American Idol 2009 Top 4 - Songs & Guest Stars
May 4th, 2009 American Idol, Season 8,This week on American Idol 2009 things will have narrowed down to the Top 4. With just weeks to go we’ll be seeing the season’s Idol Top 3 by Wednesday night with performances on Tuesday and the results the following evening.
Tuesday’s performances will be all Rock ‘n Roll. Hot damn! The remaining singers will pick rong songs under the guidance of guest mentor Slash (currently with Velvet Revolver).
Wednesday’s results show will feature the return of former Idol performer, Chris Daughtry who will be performing “No Surprise” off his upcoming new album. Also singing that night will be the return of No Doubt and hopefully Slash will hit the guitar for us, though with no lead singer for his band I doubt it’ll be a full blown performance.
Who will rise and who will fall on this week’s American Idol? Share your predictions!

i have a gut feeling it will be gokey vs allison. Adam is good but for me he is getting a bit boring already because it’s always the same screeching sound i hear but he’s got really extreme talent ok so dont get me wrong please. Kris is vocally weaker than the others, he doesnt really dare go where the other contestants would conquer but he can be quite creative but i dunno how much creativity he has left. Lastly, dont hate on me ok because at the end of the day, it’s America’s vote against my word and thing is mine dont really matter OK?? peace to yall

Well, if the final 2 come down to Allison and Gokey, I can guaranty that veiwership will be waaaaay down. Is it any surprise that Adam ends up going on in the 2nd half of the show each week? They would never put him on in the first half. The reason is that people wait to hear him and if he went first–then the TV channel would be switched directly after his performance. Idol producers know this.
So—by all means–have the final 2 be Allison and Gokey–and watch Idol go down the tubes.
Personally–I hope Allison goes home this week. Maybe if the judges finally stop pimping her, and she has to get by on her own merit– this will happen.

YES! Allison is so JUDGE-PIMPED it makes me sick! Now that she is the only female left it is getting worse! And people are buying it! UGH!!
HATE Kara so much too. She is horrid! Whoever was responsible for hiring her should be fired.
Let’s get rid of Allison this week. 3X in the bottom 3 even with the excessive judge-pimping!

“Vote For the Worst” has chosen Danny Gokey. WooHOO! More votes for Danny! So funny cuz some of my friends joined VFTW just so they can nominate Danny and get him more votes. He will win anyway, but this helps! Not that he needed their support in the first place. VFTW also supported Scott who was really good too!If they really wanted a bad contestant they would have chosen Adam or the fat girl.
I think VFTW wanted to be alligned with a winner so they are pretendng that they think Danny is the worst. We know better! It is a win/win for Danny! Now he will definitely defeat screamiing Adam and his west coast freaky fans. Finally a moral Idol we can be proud of (well, Carrie was moral too)! GO Danny! Thanks VFTW, you will not regret it when he wins. Yippy!!

VFTW is selling out. They know Danny is popular and will probably win, the only one not to have been in the bottom 3 all season!! Is this “Worster” material? and as ‘A’ states above, they want to be alligned with a winner. Personally, I do not like smug Danny. And is he the worst? no.
I gave up my “Worster” membership card this season. After Megan, it was all down hill…..

I personally LOVED seeing ADAM in the bottom 3!!!! Finally got his dues! I would love to see him go home! He sux!!!!!!! He screaches each week - he needs to go down!!!!
I am liking Danny & Allison for the final 2! I love Kris - he is just so cute and has the personality to go along with it! Go Kris, Danny & Allison!

Even “Vote for the Worst” could not resist Danny’s charm! Doesn’t he have enough votes already VFTW people? I don’t get it! I though they chose the “underdog” or worst singer that the judges would hate to see win! Danny is the producer’s, judge’s and “middle class Americana’s” dream idol. Really now, he has long been the producer’s fav and the judge’s fav to win. This IS who they want.

doesn’t matter. Pretty sure judges, et.al have viewed his videos online (I Just Love You, Can’t Make You Love Me, etc.) and have him signed already. Love Adam and will be disappointed and bored if he’s voted off, but, we haven’t seen the last of him. Way to go Adam.

Woo! you people are so sure about it? if final run is Danny vs. Chris or Allison as some of you predicted. Our family and friends may as well find some other things to do starting this Thursday. It doesn’t matter we are fans or not, most of us aren’t crazy fans at all, but do you know how many people like us only watch AI and voting for the first time because of Adam? Do not underestimate the audience. Good luck then!

I think everyone needs to remember that this contest is about “talent”, and not who the cutest is or the most charming is. We aren’t watching “The Sexiest Man Alive!” Though it is not my choice of genre, Adam is hands down the most TALENTED contestant. Kris does not posses strengh or power in his voice, Danny is ok, but shows no signs of “Top 10 on the Charts” and Allison has potential, she has what it takes to make it in the industry. The Final Round - Adam and Allison; Adam 09 AI Winner! Next time you watch the show…close your eyes and listen don’t base you opinion on how they look or what they are wearing, I promise you, it will change your opinion if you think Danny or Kris are going to win!

I’m soooo agree to Mr.Ed, Kris is not handsome or sexy (huuh?), he’s not hot! Even Danny too…and Allison their called it strengt and power her voice? Nope, i don’t think so,,,if you patiently heard her voice, it’s sound like 95% from her noise…it’s creepy….in AI, we need the brand new one…like before for example, we’ve got Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, David Cook with difference genre, (Allison is so much like Kelly isn’t she?)… and now Adam Lambert has different than another Idols,,,He’s the New Transformation for AI Star! His voice is not bad, very smooth, but I have a problem with his marketing strategy and shameless self promoting (grief being the vehicle). He is not very good looking and will probably not make it in the recording industry with his narrow appeal, but I admit…if you listen to the vocals only, he may have the 2nd best voice of the 4. While he falls 4th in all other categories.
So, dear Kara to say “Danny appeals to everyone” is naive, inaccurate and compeltely unture! There is not one contestant now or from the start of the season who “appealed to everyone”–and in the current 4, I’d say that Hokey-Gokey is the least appealing. Unless you’re from Wisconsin!

I think adam is pimped by the judges but it’s ok though. Allison in the other hand has a beautiful voice and deserves a spot on the final 3 or final 2. This is a singing competition and I think Adam and Allison have a better voice then the other two.

Keiley, I have noticed from reading these posts, past and present, that you are very mean spirited. You get very defensive if people critisize Adam and if they don’t agree with your assessments you have no problem calling people naiive, or immature or whatever other adjective pops into your head. You must be very spoiled and extremely self-centered and obviously must have your own way. Those are signs of immaturity, honey. So you like Adam, we know that. He may win. He’s very good-looking and very talented. But talk about naiive, for you to say people will stop watching if he doesn’t, wake up. AI made HIM, he doesn’t make AI. And to have the heartlessness to say Danny is promoting his grief, how dare you. You have obviously never lost any one you loved. The fact that happened to him is part of who he is, if you didn’t know it and it came out, you’d then probably resort to calling him cold-hearted. Danny’s wife died, he didn’t and his life must go on. Let him pursue happiness the best way he can. Go ahead and love and root for Adam, but don’t spoil it for others who don’t agree with you with your mean spirit.

Adam is not pimped, he is really that good. Randy, Kara and Simon all gave him negative reveiws is the past–Simon referring to one of his performances as “horrible”, Randy saying “Too theatrical for me, not your best” Kara saying “sleazy”,,etc etc and so on…. So, while they hold Adam’s usually flawless performances to a higher standard, Allison’s sometimes ‘good’, sometimes ‘fair’ performances send the judges into orgasmic rushes. It is pretty pathetic to watch sometimes. They really need young contestants to remain, or so they think, and they really need females, so there you go……

Gee, sorry Kara, but I don’t think I am the only one who found it tasteless that Danny cried more than once on national TV (still allowing the producers to run it too even if it was “spontaneous ” or “unrehearsed”) over his wife’s death. I would hope most contestants would have the integrity not to capitalize on personal tragedy. But to be fair, the producers love these sob stories and will continue to exploit them if the contestant is a willing participant.
I am not a fanatical Adam fantard. I just think it is so silly to pretend there is a real contest when one contestant’s talent obviosuly far exceeds the others. It was not this top heavy in past Idol seasons. I hate that the producers are pretending that it is such an open field. Give us a a break…
I do think that Danny is #2 in vocal ability if that makes you feel better

Keiley, again, your opinion that there is no contest. Adam is not my favorite. So, I think there is a contest. I think Kris & Alison are talented, and they have their following, so there’s a contest. I don’t understand people like you that have to rally support from all the people who agree with them to make their point and you just assume because you think Adam is the best he is. To YOU he is. You. Many others, also, but to others, he’s NOT. Why do you have such trouble handling that? Then you resort to attacking Danny’s looks. He’s not as good looking as Adam, but so what? This isn’t a beauty contest. Haven’t you ever met people that didn’t appeal to you physically at first, but after you know them, sunddenly they do? I think Danny is adorable. I have never felt he exploited his wife’s death. As you say, maybe the producers are capitalizing on it, which is tasteless, but Danny can’t help that, and maybe by talking about it, it helps him deal with it. I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt. As far as you thinking “I will feel better” because you put Danny at #2, I don’t feel anything. I just think it’s rotten to put people down who don’t see things the way you do. You are entitled to your favorite, and I’m entitled to mine. Whoever wins, wins.

Is this the board regarding “prediction”? The closer the final is, the more tense Danny’s fans are. Only because Adam is too popular. I can accept any opinion but not emphasizing “Danny lost his wife” because EVERYBODY had down time and touching story we should respect. It’s just unfair to all other contestants. Not necessary to argue here we will know the TV rating after tonight’s elimination. After all, that’s the only thing Fox will care.

I think that it will be down to Danny (who has been consistant since the beginning) and Adam (who only had one bad night). Adam has had a lot of practice to get where he is and Danny is raw (church singing) talent. I think Adam will do well, but he will end up like Clay Aiken and will be doing broadway. I have picked the big winners since this all started and I have to go with Danny.

Danny may win but I don’t see him being anything more than Taylor Hicks II. Seriously, they remind me of one another. I think because of Adam’s flamboyance, we see him only as a broadway star. He has shown great versatility throughout this competition. I think he would have the more lucrative recording career. While Danny’s performances have been consistent, his overall appeal is narrower than Adam’s.

I apologize for annoying you. Keiley, I apologize to you, also. I am 24 years old and recently lost my husband of 3 years. I identify with Danny. I know what it’s like to try to go on with your life when you’re dieing inside. I don’t mean to come across as not too bright, I just want everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect. You never know what’s going on with someone. Throwing jabs at people isn’t right.

I am female, a singer-songwriter, 55, pretty rigid in my views about sexual orientation, BUT am putting all that aside with regards to Adam, even if the rumours about him being gay are true. He has God’s gift to touch hearts through his vocals. I predict that NO MATTER WHAT the outcome of IA, Adam will become an International Superstar, a Legend that will be remembered in 30+ years when the others will be forgotten. So there!

Im confused and baffled at the remarks I read and hear every week about ADAM he is the only true singer that can carry a tone from top to bottom without even trying, his perfomances not only make the other contestants look weak but the judges are always so blown away with what he’s done they can barely speak.With that said GO ADAM you keep us entertained on a very boring show.Someone give Paula her coke and whiskey please………

One of the things that makes Idol so fun to watch is the diversity in those kids and their talent. I need to turn the volume down a little when Adam comes on, because he is so scrachy. But he is still very talented. I don’t have a very favorite, because different artists do better with different styles. so it depends on the week! I have voted for several of them. Looking forward to their tour this summer so we can actually see them in person.
Someone commented earlier that they would not watch Idol ever again if a particular person does not win. That’s too bad, because it is by far the most intersting program on TV these days. Appreciate diversity, my friend.

It’s obvious that Simon, Randy & Kara are pulling for Adam by their constant slamming of the other finalists — tonight was no different as they slammed everyone but Adam — come on folks — Chris, Allison & Danny were ALL awesome tonight — but the only one the judges had nothing but good things to say about was Adam…..way too obvious…oh, and Adam should come out of the closet already…he’s obviously not playing for our team…

Adam has been the one all the judges have idolized. He can do No wrong. I am very disappointed with the way the show is headed. When Adam is on stage all I hear is annoying screaming….

Danny was terrible, his worse performance to date and I think the judges were lenient given the fact that he destroyed that final note.
Allison was not good during her solo, but was much better in the duet. They were not that hard on her given her mediocre rendition of a Joplin classis–but it was not awful.
They were too hard on Kris, whose solo was much better than Danny’s–especially Simon who I think wants Kris gone (to preserve Gokey and Allison who may have been in trouble otherwise).
Sorry but Adam’s vocals and his total performance was perfect–it was so flawless. There was no room for judges to be critical because there were no areas on which to improve. He outdid himself. And I am someone who does not like this type of rock, at all!

the top 4 did awesome tonight .. they all have a WINNERS trophy from me .. who loses tonight is American IDOL … with not so much as a mention of David Cooks brother passing. He was a true fan of AI, and David’s #1 supporter. AI owed David and his family a moment, simply a second in the finals, a simple mention of his name .. forever in our memories, and to you David Cook .. God Bless your brother Adam

Adam and Alison were awesome. Based on last night’s performance, they were the best. Still voted for and like Danny. But he wasn’t the best last night. Adam has props but he’s clean and nice to look at, and boy can he sing. That slash, when do you think he showered last. All the Idol were better than him. He looks like a bug with those stupid glasses and the silver boogar on his face. I hope Adam never evolves into a rock star like that, AAAGH

To be fair to all contestants you need to have one night of gospel music. The two who work in music ministry had to do the rock music…the rockers should have to do a gospel number.

(ok i know u adams fans will hate me) but i thinks its not just me. a lot of people dont like his screaming. yeah maybe he will win but am not sure if lots of people will buy his CDs though. theres one thing am sure of people will love his concerts. hes good on stage. but try just to listen and not looking at him perform. i think its really quite annoying to listen to him singing. but its very entertaining to watch him perform. and by the way hes way ahead from the others coz of his experience on stage. he could be consider as professional already but the others were just amateurs. and really a bad choice for danny last night he should not scream like that. thats the worst performance he did. if felt sorry for him. ilike him and kris. and i like alison than adam coz she doesnt scream even she did high notes. anyway goodluck to all of u guys. u are all AI winners already for being on top 4

I believe Adam has the talent. He rocks! He should be the American Idol because he has talent, style and the perfect voice. Dont go by the personal tragedies that Danny is facing etc. All have their downsides. This show is for talent and the most brilliant one should win. I vote for Adam.

My opinion only guys don’t go nuts on me !!! I think Adam is very talented but i think he would be good on broadway.. I don’t care for his style … and talk about pimping someone out adam gets his share of that from kara or whatever her name is … I don’t have a fav But I do like Danny he kinda reminds of rubens style of singing … I think they are all talented so let the best one win

Danny has the best voice and can sing any category. I think he is so gracious and is not in the least bit conceited. I think he is an all round American good guy.

Danny has not been in the bottom three yet. That should say something. Remember when Chris Daughtry got kicked off at #5 or #6. Look where he is at now. I think that Adam is good. We used our surround sound to listen to them sing and he sounded like he was screaming almost the whole song. No matter what, it is when they start recording you really find out the kind of following they will have. Christian music is coming back!

I feel they are all good, but believe it should come out with Adam and Allison has the last two. I hope Allison wins, for 17 she does have a gift and very talented. She has grown in this competion.

Wonder if they are actually looking for talent or stories behind the person, Yes I lost someone , we were soul mates but would never want someone to vote for me for that reason. Allison deserved to be one of the three , its crazy, Danny is good but not as good as her , or Chris either.
