American Idol 2009 Top 3 - Elimination Results Show Tonight
May 13th, 2009 American Idol, Results, Season 8,Tonight on American Idol 2009 the Top 3 results will be revealed, sending one singer home, and giving us the season’s finale face-off contestants.
Sadly, at this stage I think the only competition remaining is the battle for second place. Whether you like him or not, Adam seems poised to take the big prize this season. Danny has been reliable, but boring and for that reason I’d like to see Kris and Adam take the stage next week. All three of the singers are likely to continue on and do very well in the industry, but I know one singer’s shrilly-filled album won’t be making it into my music collection.

A little biased on this site, me thinks! No accounting for taste, Matt. He must be a fan of “the good christian” Danny. Cannot wait for Adam’s “shrill-filled” CD which will undoubtedly go triple platinum, AT LEAST! The thought of it is sending “shrills” up and down my spine! GO ADAM!!! Ignore the crap from bloggers lacking in good taste!

I live in South Africa, and since the start of the current season I have not missed one show - and all I can say is that there IS only one winner - it must be quite bad for the other two contestants - just knowing that they aren’t really ABLE to top ANY of Adam’s performances. I LOVE him to bits -he’s just something else - like ELVIS was…need I say more?

no doubt, Adam will win, and he can sing. I wish he would actually sing more, instead of relying on the shrill factor in every, every song. It’s becoming almost gimmicky. not every song requires that-like his earlier performances, which elevated his status. now every performance is wide-open-mouth shrieking.

I would love a Kris vs Adam finale, but i doubt that will happen. Sad, but we’re going to have a half-boring finale this year. (Adam being the exciting part)

Looks like it’s between Danny and Kris tonight.
I like them both, but Danny has to total package and I really think the Christian World will Love him. He will be on Starr 991.1 one day soon.

I’m not going to try to predict a winner here (although I would love to see Danny win) but a statement like “if there is a God” is really insulting to everyone. There is a God and he doesn’t need people on here questioning His existence based on the AI outcome. Enjoy the rest of this season everyone…it’s been a great one.

Don’t know what the problem was with Altel last night, but I could not vote on my two cell phones. I tried for 2 hours almost solid and the circuits were always either busy or it ended my call. Hope someone look into this.

It’s really hard to tell who will go home tonight, because each person had at least one good performance. I hate to say it, but the shoe-in for the finale is Adam, and if he doesn’t make it in I will surley be surprised.
I really would like a Danny/Adam finale, but i’m not sure of that either, because Kris did amazing last night. However, he seems to be doing the same things over and over, and i’m almost tired of it, the same goes for Adam too.
So, in my opinion, I think it will turn out to be Kris/Adam, though I’m sure who ever goes home will make a record at some point.. Right?

well i have gone to the live shows for the last 5 weeks because my dad is a asst producer i live in L.A. And to tell you the truth it sounds better on tv. I like all of them but in the end danny hyas a better voice. He will beat them all

In France we think that Mr. Adam Lamberte is the very best of the American Idols. We very much trust Mr. Simoon’s opinion in Europe and he is so popular celebrity now in France and all over Europe that some people want to come to USA to see Mr. Lamberte. I hope he wins! He is the only one who is deserving. What is it with you Americans? Send him to us!

I absolutely love Kris Allen and believe that he did the best he has ever done last night. As a fellow worship leader, I am proud of him for making a stand as he has this season.
He is humble, and I think whether Simon agrees or not, that is why everyone likes him even more. He is the most talented one this season, “all around”. GO Kris!!!!

Honestly, Adam was one of my favorites at the beginning, but I cannot stand listening now. He cannot ever just sing a song without screeming it lately. I think that more people are feeling the same way. Why do you think he was in the bottom two a couple of weeks ago. He did not do as well last night to me as the other two. I hope America is freaked out and Kris and Danny hit the finale. That would be awesome…Two Christians!!! And worship leaders!

I do agree that Adam is overdoing the screaming thing, but what was with his background singers last night? They were totally off key and very loud. It seems like there may be some sabotage going on. Kris’ songs were more popular and he was allowed to showcase his guitar and piano skills. Danny also had unique arrangements and nice lighting. I think the producers are pushing for a Kris/Danny finale with Kris winning it all. I don’t like to see this kind of manipulation.

To Jeremy…there are many reasons why I refuse to vote for Adam. But I definetly wont bring that up online. If that keeps you from voting for those to, so be it. That is your choice and you have that right. Danny and Kris both have phenominal voices! It’s not that they are “CHRISTIANS”…that just makes it much better. I know this is a singing competition…

Kris is the best pure singer of the three. Adam puts on the best performance, although he’s pretty much one-dimensional. Danny puts the most “soul” into his songs. Tough choice!

I used to like Danny, but he seems very smug and arrogant to me. I prefer Kris and Adam’s personalities. I know it’s not a personality contest though. And I used to like Danny’s voice until that infernal scream during Dream On. The whole song was a mess and made me realize his limitations. I couldn’t believe he even attempted that range. So now I am hoping for Kris and Adam to be in the top spots and think that both will do really well. I’d be happy with either of them because they are both more talented than Danny and deserve to win. Danny’s screamy voice just was too much for me!

I am secretly hoping that Danny gets kicked off tonight. After that SCREAM last week, I cannot take him seriously. And with that sappy song he did this week “U R So Beautiful” he was avoiding all of the high notes. Good move Danny–because you cannot reach them without cracking glass lol!
I supported Danny exclusivelyy up until Motown (he super-sucked that night)when Adam did “Tracks Tears”–then I voted for both. Then with Danny’s SCREECHY SCREAM last week, I completely switchd to Adam. I hope Adam wins. He should–but Idol is not always fair and doesn’t always make sense. Remember Taylor Hicks and Reuben Stoddard?????????????

I’m 59 & can’t stand any screaming rock, BUT, Adam gives me GOOSEBUMPS!! LOVE him!! I also think Danny is TOPS!! Love his voice, (AND BOD!). I think Kris is boring, boring, boring, and I thought he’d be long gone. I think it should have come down to Adam, Danny and Allison. But Adam WILL WIN and me our next IDOL!! I haven’t missed a show since the very beginning of Idol, this season was the best ever!

Firstly, turn your hearing aid up and listen–Adam is not a “professionally trained musician” OK? Got it? Just because he was an understudy in an LA production of Wicked? Please! Carly smithson had a record deal before her Idol stint, David A. too, Constantine was in “Rent” before his Idol stint. Adam is not considered “professioanlly trained” you uninformed dolt!

Adam,Danny & Kris are all great singers. Although everyone thinks Adam is going to win Danny and Kris are both going to have a career on after this. Allison was one of the best to and she is gonna go far. The talk about Danny being boring is rediculous. I mean come on really he’s a great artist and think about it you would have alot of pressure and emotion inside you if you were still dealing with grief of his wife. Sorry to disappoint all the Kris fans out there. He lacks the ability to adapt to the songs he chooses. His performances throughout the competition have been carbon copies each week. I can’t identify one song from another. As far as his phrasing, with a few exceptions, he also lacks the ability to interpret songs to make them his own. I don’t know who he is, what kind of artist he intends to become. Again, the majority of his performances have been identical. One could argue he is being “true to who he is”, but who exactly is that? I would have liked to see that he has some kind of range. It is his weakest area. I can’t remember one song of his that didn’t sound like the one he sang the week before. Danny, on the other hand, has a remarkable sense of music theory. He has a beautiful voice and knows how to get the most out of that instrument. He certainly doesn’t possess the range of Adam, but his interpretations and phrasing, timing are so much more proficient than Kris. Sorry again to Kris fans, but he is boring. He has a pleasant voice, but just that and nothing more..pleasant.
Adam is in a completely different category. Like it or not, his range, his ability to come up with unique and amazing arrangements alone makes him stand solo among the other two. Yes, I agree that he needn’t always hit those glass shattering high notes all the time, but I wouldn’t classify it as screaming. Screaming implies lack of control, striving to get to a place musically that is difficult and a strain. His fallsetto is clean and without effort. His range in general in unbelievable. So folks, like him or no..the most talented of the group is Adam. In my humble opinion, and by the way, I am speaking as a lifelong musician…the biggest difference between the three of them is that Adam feels the music. When he sings, whether it is rock, ballad or anywhere in between, his emotion and connection to the lyrics is undeniable. One can be the best singer on the planet, but if the music isn’t coming from a place inside that evolks emotion, feeling and that connection, it will just be good music. Artist can always tell the subtle yet profound difference when that emotional connection is there in the sound.

Stop whining! Week after week the judges showed favoritsm to Gokey–who was boring and mediocre, had no origniality and put me to sleep. He was never called on his horrendous “Dream ON’ where he tortured us for 2 and a 1/2 minutes; Tuesday night he bored us again with “You Are So Beautiful”, the judges loved it of curse. Adam’s performances are original and unique, his talent surpasses any previous Idol contestant–what are the judges suppose to do? Pretend others are better than Adam when clearly they are not? The Adam haters are the same idiots who voted for George Bush twice–well, guess what? Bush is gone and so is Gokey!

As everyone is allowed to pick a favourite based on your taste, its fine that you talk about your favourites.. but you only show your ignorance by saying stuff like “all he does is scream”.
Was there any mentor on the show who wasnt impressed by him? (Even randy travis was impressed by his vocal ability although he didnt like the rendition) So what makes you think that all those great musicians AND the judges are wrong.. and you are right?
gokey puts me to sleep everytime he sings.. but he did wake me up with that scream though.. i was “dreaming on” till then. lol.
As for kris, the lovable sweet guy, he just lacks range. But he does knw wat the audience likes.. so he might become a certain sort of an artist yet.

I am an Adam fan. I am a conservative elderly woman who has enjoyed great talent through the 40’s on. Adam has a beautiful voice and a great range..the high notes may sound like screaming, but they are just high octaves. Kris also has a great voice and I really like him. But, Adam has the most talent. We will see who wins. BUT, remember the song “One” which Adam sang. It tells us all not to judge others without love and compassion, even though we don’t agree and are not the same. Good luck to both contestants.
