American Idol 2009 Finale Week - Elimination Results Show Tonight
May 20th, 2009 American Idol, Results, Season 8,Tonight on American Idol 2009 the end-all, finale results for this season will be revealed, crowning either Adam Lambert or Kris Allen to be the newest Idol.
Before last week I would have said that it Adam’s win was all but set in stone. After Ryan Seacrest revealed last week that Adam and Kris’ vote counts were within 1 million votes of each other I’m thinking this competition is still wide open. The deciding factor is likely to be where Danny Gokey’s voters lean their weight. Will they get behind Adam or fall in line with Kris?
Tonight’s episode will be jam packed with guest stars, including Carrie Underwood, David Cook, the Black Eyed Peas, Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, and Cyndi Lauper. Somehow they’ll fit that all into 2-hours!

I am dubious that a nobody posting on a message board has “insider information” not yet known to Ryan Seacrest. I believe Adam will unltimately win because I think true talent trumps mundane, every day, semi-talent. Not to be rude, but Adam can hit any note and Kris could not even sing the horrid Kara song in the proper key due to his limited range. Hello???

I like both men. I think Adam should win based on all of the performances this season. He did much better than Kris. I wish it was Danny or Allsion with Adam in the finale and maybe it would have been more of a toss up, and the show not so dull. Kris is sweet and has so much musicality, but if I compare him to Adam, he is second rate. I did not vote last night or all season because I decided at the start of top 10 I would vote for Danny or Allison if they got in the finals since they were my top 2 (1. Allison 2. Danny 3. Adam…and KRis was #8). Now I am regretting it since I am hearing tween Kris fans were using automated dialing devices. Maybe AI wants a huge upset just to have the drama and publciity. Think about it. It almost seemed like they were preparing us for a Kris win last night, which would be a very odd outcome when you look at both performances side by side. Adam outshone Kris by a mile!

This show is all about pimping whoever is the least talented to make the voting closer and Simon tried to help Kris out the first round but how could you say that Mad World performed by Adam was beat at all by Kris’s song yes Kris sang good it’s the only song he can sing. I am holding out for an Adam win, despite the boring finale last night (both men were okay–Adam better). I have to believe that ppl are going to look at the entire season and see Adam was awesome and Kris had only a couple of strong moments. I was kinda shocked when Reuben beat Clay (Still don’t get that one) but I would be MUCH more shocked if Kris beat Adam–flabbergasted actually! This would be a huge Idol blunder and I would blame the producers. They had a clear winner and rare talent in Adam early on–and they knew it! They tried to downplay to make it a comepetition early on–when it really was not. And then at the end, they pimp because they become nervous. It looks bad. If the judges were honest each week, Adam would have received the highest accolades and the others would have rec’d a “good effort”. This will cause a lot of veiwer descent, and can you imagine poor Kris? He will be branded as the “Idol who should not have won–who has a crown based on a faulty voting system and bigotted voters” blah blah. Anyway, A loss will give Adam positive carrer publicity (ppl will think it was stolen from him)–A win will give Kris negative publicity–good for short term–bad for long term. Kris is going nowhere as far as becoming a huge star,and Adam has the world waiting for him! But….I still want Adam to win BECASUE HE SHOULD!

Even if Kris gets the crown–Many will believe that Adam really won. A Kris win defies logic!
Idol producers want a plain, middle-class-Americana, safe winner. Not the flamboyant, androgneous outsider–even though his talent is imeasurable! Kris will have a clouded, tainted win that will always be questionable. He is better off if he loses.

So the song was too high, you’re gonna fault a guy for that? Everybody has a vocal range you idiots. At least he made the song “singable” I couldn’t even imagine listening to Adam’s version on the radio. I’m an Adam fan, but Kris has a lot more talent and definitely more versatile. The screaming just gets old after awhile and I can’t imagine listening to an entire album of it. It really sucks that all the judges counted Kris out at the end. I think they need to listen back to Change is Gonna Come again. It wasn’t gritty or soulfoul.

Both the performances of Adam and Kris in last night AI finale were dull and not really their best. As if, they’ve already reached their “saturation” point and tired & bored. That’s understandable considering the so many weeks of AI performance already. I missed the “vocal masterclass” of Danny though.

No, I really am an Adam fan. I think Adam can SING!!! Better than Kris I’ll admit that. But I wouldn’t buy his album, and this is coming from someone who does buy the albums that American Idols put out. I would buy what Kris puts out. But then again, I’m a huge fan of artists like Mraz and Gavin DeGraw- My kind of music. I’m also a dancer/theatre person and I think Adam belongs on Broadway. He’s AWESOME. Our Idols aren’t always those who sing the best (Britney and Madonna are proof of that), it’s about those who we relate to, who market the best and let’s face those who the “teeny boppers” fall in love with.

Those 4 “honorable” AI judges and “musical guru” sort of, always “preaching” to AI contestants about the right song choices. And yet, that finale song,”No Boundaries”, was really horrible. Even the songs chosen by Simon Fuller for Adam and Kris were also horrible. That’s unfair for both Adam and Kris.
That could be the reason why, last night finale lacks luster. Both contestants were really trying hard to give a good interpretation to the songs of which they don’t feel like singing.
Though they’d tried their best for the sake of competition and professionism. They’re really true artists themselves and stick to the rule, “The Show Must Go On”.
Congrats to Adam and Kris for your professionalism. More Power to both of you.

You are delusional or just plain stupid. Not for saying Kris should win, because I think he should, but for thinking that anyone would believe you. If your husband works for someone affiliated with American Idol, and he tells the results, he should be fired because of his loud mouth wife. This would have to be kept confidential. And your email address can be tracked therefore if you cared about your husbands career you wouldn’t divulge such information. But you’re probably not married and you are definitely full of crap. And if Kris does win tonight, that does not prove you had inside information, all it proves is that you had a 50 / 50 chance at guessing and you did so rightly.
Enough of that…
I think American Idol judges definitely favor Adam, and I do not think it was air to tell Kris last night on his second song that it wasn’t a big enough song for the final show…hello, he didn’t pick the song, Simon did. Secondly the song that was chosen for them both to sing was definitely more geared towards Adam who can sing the higher notes. They should have chosen a song, where both guys could have had an equal shot at it. And just because Kris doesn’t have the range that Adam has doesn’t make him any less talented. Many famous singers can’t hit the high notes, so they sing songs within their own range.
Kris is very musical, he can sing well, play the piano, play guitar…he would be my choice to win Idol. I do agree that Adam is talented, but I am sick of listening to him scream.

Hello from Malaysia. I have been a fan of Adam since Day1. I am sure he has won!! It is NOT FAIR that fans from other countries are NOT able to vote for their idols. It is no point to see live telecast of the show, and yet not able to participate. American Idol organiser should review the rights to vote by non-Americans. I had been watching American Idol since season 3, and it is really frustrating not able to vote and to feel uninvolved of choosing our idol. Sob! sob! I would never, i repeat never watch the show again if Kris wins. A real talent like Adam’s doesn’t come around very often. We need a new superstar, someone to replace Jagger. Adam can fit that bill. Kris is sweet and nice but Adam could fill up a stadium with his showmanship.

Well, I’m from Puerto Rico and I have not missed AI!
I think they have different styles but both are great on what they do. Adam have that “performer” magic and can really hit big notes. also, an almost perfect diction. but men, that screaming in all of his performances is anoying!!!! You can even change the channel while he is singing since you already know what he will do. It is almost like he have to do it to believe it is right.
Chris, in the other hand is more sensitive, powerful, you can almost feel what he is singing, and he can play guitar and Piano, play with different rythms and styles.He can always surprise you. Some thing that Adam cant do, he will have a great, wonderful career in Broadway.
Adam will get far into rock music either he wins or not. Chris will also do it on his own too. Honestly, do not know what to think but I’m tired of Adam screams!!!, I want Chris to win

We knew there are so many experts, music teachers has visited this site and stated it is called “high registry”, not “screaming”. It needs intensive training and not every one can do that. Hitting a note in a high register is one thing, screaming is another. I wouldn’t criticize the publics music knowledge. People can like or dislike whatever appeals or otherwise to them. The song choices of Simon Fuller were ordinary at best and the “Coronation” song was awful.
The show got off to a good start with the singers performing their own favorites from the previous rounds. After that it went downhill and overall I thought it was one of the poorer finals.
If you look back to previous finals, I think you will find that this was probably the poorest of the eight.
The judges have consistently criticized the singers for choosing the wrong songs and then one of them writes such an awful song and the creator of the show chooses two moderate songs.
As Simon Fuller was behind The Spice Girls I guess we should not have expected too much.

Gee, guys…. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend any of you. When I called Adam a “fag boy”, I forgot who I was talking about for a moment. I was actually thinking of myself. Apologies for that confusion. I’ve been pretty delusional lately…. I mean, I accidentaly took too many happy pills, and…. well, that doesn’t really matter. I am running late for my shock therapy session. My shrink tells me I also have anger mangagement issues so hopefully, “Old Sparky” can take care of that too!
Adam is so awesome and I want to apologize to all of you. I was brought up in a very backward and intolerant family. I am trying to recognize my ignorant, bigotted ways and change them and come out of this a better person. Adam’s talent can no longer be denied by me! I am sorry I was such an awful person. You see, there I go again. Ignore the angry previous post.I am going ot get my shock therapy very soon. I promise. I am such an angry, hateful, lonely and unhappy person.I just have this pathological desire ot make everyone around me miserable.
Believe me when I say that I know how wonderful and how extremely talented Adam is. He is so hansome too! I melt when I see him on TV! I am also bi-polar as you probably noticed. The Doctor just upped my meds so I think my good mood should be sustained for a while. When I go crazy and act nutty it is becaue my “depressive” state is setting in. Please PLEASE ignore all of the rotten, hateful self-laothing angry possts I made. I know gorgeous Adam is a gem and the best vocalist in the world. My insecurites set in when my meds are adjusting and I act out. I LOVE ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ignore all of my negative posts! I have no friends except for everyone on this board. I hope you all understand that my psychosis is not my fault–this is how I was born!
