OMG! Kris is not so good! I voted before but last night he was not good! Adam has won and that is good because Kris is not a good idol. He does not sing so strong and sounds not very good. You know what…while I was watching last nights show, I was on the fence between Adam and Kris. I wanted Kris to win…but Adam does have more stage presence. All and all I was happy that Kris won because I think Kris will do the IDOL thing better than Adam. And I think Adam will do much better in the long run because now he can do what he wants and you know he is going to have a music career. But now he can do it how he chooses to, and not how Idol chooses for him. I think both guys will do well, but Kris needs Idol supporting him and giving him the fame. Adam will get it on his own.

What a let down its like an action packed movie that is great all the way through, lots of excitement and twists and turns and then just fizzles and dies and leaves you wondering what just happened at the last minute and gives no redemption. Luckily, Adam has no worries for his future. There is limitless possibilities out there waiting for you. Congratulations, and Good Luck, You will always be my American Idol!

Agree. I would’ve liked Adam to win, because I think he deserved the title, but it’s probably for the better that he didn’t. Atleast he doesn’t have to sing that crappy Mountain song as his first single.
Kris earned it and he will probably do better with Idol. He needs them more than Adam does. Sad that Adam will be signed to 19E anyway, though. Wish he could get a better company.

OMG!! Adam should totally have won, can´t believe he didn´t. Kris is not even near as good as adam, he has wokal but adam has totally out sang him in every other round, or that is how i feel. However kris is ofcource cute and a good singer and Congrates to him and good luck, after all he proberly needed it more than Adam, so i agree that adam will do really well even thoug he didn´t winn, proberly also good in Euroupe, hopes he comes to denmark or somewhere nearby cause i would like to see him he has some crazy wokal skills

voted for Chris and he won. Adam by far was best contestant I have seen on Idol. Sure he screamed but so does Billy Idol and he’s great.
But maybe it is a good thing, Adam can get a great record deal and get away from that Idol
crap that I’m sure Chris is going to need to keep him going, if he goes anywhere. The boy is a balladier and thats about it. Adam has such a great vocal range, I was just so disappointed in the out come. I tried to vote for 1/2 hour and couldn’t get threw on any of Adams phone

I watched Idols every week here in South Africa. I am so disappointed that Adam did not win. I spend so much time watching American idols and couldn’t wait for Adam to perform and now it feels like time wasted. I don’t like rock but just to see such a great artist was something not to be missed. Adam was able to perform so many genres while Chris stuck to one mostly…. I just can’t understand. Sooo disappointing. I think that the judges should really have a stronger vote. Even they looked disappointed ’cause how can you say that someone is the best performer Idols has ever seen and then he doesn’t win.

I would have bet anything that Adam would have won 2009 American Idol and why shouldn’t he have? Without a doubt he has been the strongest contest EVER on American Idol - he has undeniable talent, charisma and humble modesty that made him that much more loveable. Compared to Adam, Kris was so-so. Kris will be forgotten in no time due to lack of personality, singing talent and skills. His singing voice does not stand out - another words while listening to the radio i doubt if anyone will be able to tell it is Kris singing unless the audience is informed. USA - what is wrong with you people?? Let’s face it - there is no way Kris was chosen based on his singing talent. Adam had the whole package - he had the “it” factor and yet the Americans who think they are such embracing open-minded people don’t pick Adam because there may be the possibility that he is gay and because he wears eyeliner and nail polish. Jeez, what pathetic thinking the Americans have - they are no better than the men of Afganistan who think women should be covered all the time. Adam too bad you weren’t from Canada - I can guarantee you the Canadians would have gotten it right - we would have voted for the best singer, the one who had the “it” factor - we wouldn’t have chosen a winner based on his sexual preference because us Canadians are a very open-minded country who would have done the right thing - not because we are scared.

Yes, Mom’s Apple Pie won out..A sad disappointment for a huge number of fans..I don’t know why they gave it to Kris because ADAM was clearly the favorite from the beginning..Kris is a nice guy, cute and sweet but…I’m sure American Idol has their reasons for giving it to the less talented..This is not the first time this has happened..
This morning they explained on TV that Kris is the American Idol, but ADAM will have the huge career…I truly believe this..I am so very sorry for all our International ADAM fans that are so disappointed…They are saying “American got it wrong again”..Yes, we did but I and many, many others stayed up late voting as long as we could for ADAM..
We are all in shock but maybe this will be for the best..Kris will have to go by American Idol rules..ADAM will be able to pursue his career and it will be his choice because he is getting offers by the hundreds as we speak!! We will all be watching and waiting to hear more from ADAM, hopefully a CD soon, or better yet, a DVD…
Also I will get to see ADAM in Memphis (Ironically, the home of Elvis) on their concert tour..Best wishes to you American fans and all the International fans..Once again, Sorry for American Idol’s huge mistake in getting it wrong again…

It’s obvious that the level of integrity of the voting public is very low. I’m Canadian and it’s glaringly obvious that Adam should have won….and likely because of homophobes, he didn’t. Not only that but poor Kris will never really be able to embrace the honor and title because he also knows who should have won and why he didn’t! How sad for them both. I wonder if all of the judges are disheartened and feel that their mission mays well not be to judge talent but to judge who’s got the more popular personal lifestyle/belief systems. In the end Adam’s destined for Super Stardom.

As I have predicted, Kris will win the AI title because of the huge chunks of votes of Danny’s fans that will be shifted to Kris, and it did happened. As I’ve predicted, it was not a “battle” of talents anymore in the finale but a “battle” of number of votes, despite the “push” of the AI judges(i.e., Simon) for the general viewing to public to vote for Adam.
Indeed, the votes of Danny’s fans became the deciding factor that made Kris won the AI title.
It only showed also, that the taste and musical sense of the general viewing public much different than the taste of the AI judges.
As expected, because of the bashings of Adam’s fans and supporters to Danny before and after the semi-final(thus, he was eliminated), it appeared that Danny’s fans retaliated by “voting anyone but not Adam” in the finale. Indeed, the power of “votes” to defeat an “opponent” in a popularity contest like AI.
It’s quite unfortunate that the ending of the Adam-Danny”s “rivalry” in this AI season for the AI crown resulted to a “lose-lose” situation for both of them, and Kris the dark-horse became the “lucky” winner of that “rivalry”.
Hopefully, the future AI contenders in the next AI seasons will learn from the Adam-Danny “rivalry”, particularly their fans and supporters.
AI is not only a “battle of talents” but a “battle of numbers” and “strategies”. Once more it’s proven, that a “win-win” approach in the competition like AI, is the best “strategy” for both two leading contenders.

Go to the American Idol website and you can learn a lot about what happend…Everyone is talking about it, that Kris is good but, a dime a dozen…Then there is ADAM, who was so extaordinary in every way..I noticed the shows that are having Kris on next week are also having ADAM on…I never saw that before..
According to some of the TV channels this morning, American Idol Owners felt, Americans are ready for a black president but not ready for a (possibly) gay American Idol..
Also one of the papers has reported that the school where Kris was a student, had computers set to vote for Kris 100,000 times a minute…And here we were dialing our fingers to the bone to vote for ADAM…
I never believed in an American Idol before, with such conviction, because in my eyes (and lots of other people)ADAM is the best they have ever had and I doubt they will ever be able to top that..The way I feel right now, I doubt that I will watch it again, knowing how unfair it all is..If I do watch, I will never vote again…No need, since our votes don’t count..

On behalf of other international watchers of AI thanks Marry Anne for admitting American got it wrong. Kris might have won, but Adam is the “Real American Idol” and will far better not trapped within the trappings of AI as many of you have pointed out. Down here in NZ we don’t see the show until tonight. I was so sure Adam would win I was logged on all yesterday watching and now I’m so disappointed but I still will have to watch the show tonight (Friday) to see Adam who has been the greatest AI contestant of all time. This is much worse than Taylor Hicks’ victory as Taylor did not compete against someone of proportionately greater talent in every way. It is even worse than Rueben Stoddard’s win. A “coffee lounge guitar player” calibar beat out the best singer ever to grace the Idol stage in 8 years. What is wrong with you Americans? I must believe it is the “Idol powers that be” who wanted two for the price of one–Kris would have puttered off into obscurity without this win. Adam will make it either way. This does not excuse the unfairness of the voting system and the greedy producer’s proable actions or inactions. Kris’ win defies logic. Kris has been handed a tainted victory which will hurt more than help in the long run. Poor guy.

Well It’s supposed to be a singing competition and vocally Adam was so far superior to Chris it was the biggest miss match ever on Idol and yet we are supposed to believe Chris won fairly. What a load of rubbish. He will know himself he wasn’t the best singer and that’s sad. Adam is a true entertainer with a vocal range I have never heard before. He will be a true star for many years to come, Chris will not. I was impressed with Adam, but wondered how much his over-the-top dress might have turned off some voters. His black finger nail polish didn’t set well with me - it made me wonder what was cooking in the guy’s head. I think if he had stayed a bit more “normal,” he would have picked up a lot more votes. When you are playing the odds, the more one strays from normal, the smaller the population who appreciate your act becomes. It is like the good old bell shaped curve idea. As Adam moved away from the middle in his dress, the more one moves out on the tails of the bell shaped curve in terms of people who appreciate the behavior. Kris was more in the middle of the curve and therefore he naturally had a greater voting audience. Kris and Gokey were splitting votes, but when Gokey was voted off, Kris got most of Gokey’s votes. I think it is ok to be a bit different, but Adam was pushing the envelope sometimes.

I keep reading that the show was fixed. For reasons that I stated above, I believe the results were correct. I think Adam pushed beyond the normal comfort zone of many who watch the show. If this were a rock concert, then those attending would be comfortable with Adams dress, but many people who watch and vote on American Idol are not into freaky shows and behavior with the tongue sticking out and black fingernail polish and whatnot. Adam just moved beyond the comfort zone of too many watching the show. Many Americans are still into normal behavior.
If one steps too far away from what is considered normal in society, one will loose the devotion of their supporters. My feelings are that Adam moved too far from the comfort zone of many who vote on AI. It the Ozzy Osbourne type were the only voters on the program, Adam would have easily won.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour show until the last minute. Still in shock! Although Kris is talented, and a sweetheart, Adam has so much range, presence, heads above the rest. I do not think it is fair that you are allowed to vote more than once. America clearly got it wrong. We’ll be hearing about Adam for a long time.

In a democratic country like the USA and other countries around the world, the basic principle is “majority wins”. Hopefully, the die-hard Adam’s fans respect the choice of the majority of the voting viewing public for choosing Kris over Adam as new AI idol and be sport enough to accept the the victory of Kris.
In fairness to Kris, he has his own talents also, and no one else could monopolize the musical talents in this world, not even Adam.
It’s “majority” decision, indeed, thus must be respected. Thus, any bashing on Kris now is already “moot and academic”.

Idol tour tickets. I have 4 of them. I have attended every Idol tour except for season 5 as I was out of the Country. My tickets are for the New York city show. Guess what?Great seats and they are now going for face value (last week they were worth 30% more)! Hmmmm…makes you wonder. Others are trying to shed their tickets as well. Just last evening (after the unexpected upset),dozens have gone on-line and NONE OF THEM ARE SELLING!
For me, I just don’t want to support this intergrity-challenged francise known as ‘American Idol’ any longer. How can I watch Adam be the warm up for the likes of Kris Allen? When I bought the tix I did not imamgine such an unlikely scenario. Very sad indeed. The ‘Idol Gods’ must be crazy!

I agree with ‘majority rule’ concept, but only when the majority of actual homosapians voted for a specific person. In this case, I am very dubious that more people voted for Kris. Adam has a much stronger fan base as evidenced by ITune Downloads,many on-line surverys, the number of times (5 times more) that he is googled daily over the past week compared with Kris…it goes on and on. The Arkansas figures alone support my argument. 38 million votes from a state with a population of 2.8 million? Inconceivable. If Gizmo5 downloads or computer dialing is being used to generate 1000 calls per minute–is this fair? Why pretend there is a democratic process if it is faulty–or doesn’t even exist. The voting process is what has become both moot and academic, and in this case, inconsequential.

All in all, I did think it was a pretty good show. Alot of Adam fans disappointed I’m sure. Kris’s comment about Adam deserve it just goes to show you what a humble sweet guy he is. Definitely couldn’t see gokey saying that. In fact, did you see him on the red carpet trying to promote himself already. I think the girl interviewing him even seemed a little put off. Again, Kris and Matt Giraud seemed like the 2 most HUMBLE guys on the show. Was disappointed Matt didn’t get a duet like some of the other contestants got.(for example - Lil) oh please ugh Thought Kara’s performance was a bit good even for her lol

I cannot believe the complete stupidity of people. I mean, there is no way on this earth that this guy is better than Adam. Not only is he not better than Adam, but he is not better than Danny, Allison, or even Matt.How can these people actually believe that he should be the American Idol. Mary Anne, calm down. The sun will still come up for Adam tomorrow morning. I dont blame Kris; he’s a nice guy but hasn’t got the range or the presence of Adam. There was a spread in our papers this morning; it reckoned the black nail polish and commanding presence of Adam proved too much for middle America. A morning T.V programme got Michael Johns (from last year’s idol) out of bed(he looked like it anyway) to get his opinion. He said much the same. A similar situation happened here a few years ago with Australian Idol. A sixteen year old girl with a good voice but without the presence needed to have millions of kids across the country want to paste her picture on their walls. She came from what we call here “A battling family”. She was up against a boy similar to Adam. Hansome, a great voice, been singing and performing forever. On one show he sang the Celine Dion hit “The Prayer” but instead of singing it in English and French as she did he sang it in English and Italian. He released it as a single immediately Idol ended and it became the highest selling single in the history of the Australian recording industry. It still holds that record. The girl won the contest but never did much. The boy became extremely big in theatre and recording and is presently over there working on his next album. So you see it happens everywhere. Everyone thought the girl needed a break and they voted for her. I hope I haven’t bored everyone up the wall with all this but I thought it was worthy of mention.

you know guys i think majority of people really likes kris. kris is still have room for improvement. we can see that everyweek on his performance. but adam had used all what he got. and he dont have anything new to show any more. after awhile people will get tired of him screaming. (by the way the original song of “feeling good”is on the radio now. and i like this one than adams version. but he will be very good in concert. i just wish that he will learn to play a guitar. he look so out of place singing with those rock people. if he could play a guitar he will really look good. i think thats the one he need to improve. playing some instrument. coz if ur watching a rock concert and the rocker dont play a guitar it looks so odd. just my opinion. congrats to all kris fans. am a danny fan and kris is my second choice.

Kris Allen is having an affair with another woman behind the back of his wife. He calls her everytime, very lewd phone s-e-x they do. I am one of the caretakers of the place where the Idols stay. I just cant believe how he seems so good and innocent and humble on stage. He is a good actor. I was SO disappointed with the results of the Idol finale this year. Adam Lambert is the REAL IDOL, Kris is the “nice” college guy next door whose fans ruined the results for Adam who is the “real deal.” I followed the whole season rooting for Adam and Allison, THE most talented and creative and fresh performers. I’m still sad a day later and I’m really not that hip - just a cougar folk singer-songwriter in NM who can spot a real artist when she sees one. Adam Lambert is THE American Idol for Season 8 - there is NO doubt in my mind about it. The results just SUCK!

Best season ever! Congrats to Kris who is an amazing talent. I voted for him. Too bad he doesn’t believe in himself as much as he believes in Adam. Adam showed his power from the beginning and stayed the same throughout while Kris and some of the others got better as the competition went on. It was a toss up at the end. If Adam had not insisted on pushing his hard rock screaming image quite so much, he would probably have won all those middle America votes. Remember how
everyone drooled and panted the night he performed something tender in a suit with his hair combed different. Adam has all the pros supporting his career. Ha, his dad sure has more respect for him now. Ah, but my heart broke when Danny was voted off. I felt that night the way Lambert fans felt last night.

I was supporting Archuleta before and got sad when Cook won but immediately congratulated him because they are of a different genre but somehow they were equals regarding talent. The way I see it is that Adam is such an amazing talent (even if his voice does annoy me sometimes) he really won’t need the title to succeed, he’s gonna be huge all on his own. Whereas I don’t know if Kris would have done so well without the guaranteed record deal.

I must agree with Just AnotheR Glambert though, all across the web, u CAN see the debate going on and on, u can also clearly see that people do prefer Adam over Kris, and not necessarily people from America. Please dont bring up the whole sexual/religion/type of dresses arguement into the picture; that just shows how immature u can be. It is a singing competition, we judge mainly on the vocals (or talent) and performances rather than appearances. Fyi, the show is watched all across the world, and most of us who were unable to vote are very dissapointed and shocked with the result.
Did America get it right this time? I think yes, his vocal capabilities are meant for the pop youth audience across America, to be fair, they were both meant for different audience, America wanted a pop artist - Kris fulfills that. Adam is in a league of his own from the beginning of the competition. Am watching American Idol Finale in New Zealand and thought I would check the Idol website to see who does actually win. To read that Kris won has got to be a mistake. I can only hazard a guess that people voting for Kris had the more money and were able to place more votes because, after watching every show, there is no way Kris should win. He just hasn’t got “IT”. I was amazed that Kris even got that far through the weeks. Come on America what the heck are you playing at.

As a musican myself, from the land down under I must say Adam any time that you feel like coming on down please let us know as me & the band would love to jam with you & that awsome voice.
Adam certainly is a talent, as we say ‘born with a gift’ I honestly think that not winning is most probably the best thing that could have happened to him.
As for being a screamer, well Robert Plant, Brian Johnson, Freddie Mecrury,Ronnie James Dio Paul Stanley & Ian Gillan all made shit loads of money from sining in the upper ranges of the A chord!But I guess that music is an aquired taste

Well we here in New Zealand still cant believe the result. Who were we always talking about when it came to discussing the show? Why did we always want to get home on Friday by 8.30pm? and who without a doubt blew us away each time? Adam Lambert! Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate Kris’ ability to turn a song into his own style with that acoustic groove he had going on but Adam….Adam had that special something that made people turn their head and go wow. To #6 ‘eddy’ mate, can you not tell the difference between someone screaming and controlled vocals. Adam does not scream. He is controlled all the way. Anyway after seeing him sing with Queen…I’m sure Freddie Mercury would be more than happy with Adam taking the microphone for him. He suits their music and looks at home with that band. Brian May needs to seriously think about that possibility. What do the rest of you think?

Arkansas alone, Kris Allen’s home state, cast 38 million votes for him. Arkansas population–2.8 million. Lot’s of voting issues going on there!
Kris’ school had a computer voting system set up that could vote 100,000 times a minute for Kris. So many of you felt Kris should not have been anywhere near the finals..I thought he would have been sent home a long time ago and that the finale would have been ADAM - Danny or ADAM - Allison..So now we know why…This voting system for Kris was obviously used all along..And we ADAM fans were all voting as fast as we could, but no comparison to what Kris had going for him…Now you know the rest of the story!!
I, for one, will never vote again, since my votes don’t count..Actually, none of ADAM’S votes counted…But ADAM will be the International Mega Star…GO ADAM!!

So, the voting system is ridiculous..In other words, anyone can vote as many times as he/she can get through and obiously it does not matter how you get these votes in..Anything goes, so FOX can announce 100 million votes which is supposed to make people think they have 100 million viewers….Strange but true..The voting system, as most would agree, should be 1 vote per person..But, it is what it is and until they change it where it would be fair for all.I will never vote again, since my votes don’t count!!

Those that are upset that Adam did not win the show (including myself) should look at the reality of the end result… just like Katherine McVee, she has her own albums out, she has been on many special shows and concerts as well as on TV dramas. She did not have to fulfill a year long contract and do what American Idol wanted her to do except for the tour… this is where it will be great for Adam… he will be able to get out there and become famous in his own right…because he was the best singer on the show this year and he has a big future ahead of him. So instead of being real upset that he lost… I prefer to think of him as lucky because he is so good… and the world knows it.

Did anyone listen to Simon yesterday on Ryan’s radio show (Kiss)? Wow, Simon saying, without hesitation, that Kris was not best singer in the bunch. The only complimentary thing he could really say about Kris is that “he is like a puppy dog” and “American votes and you have to accept it”. Comparing Kris to other Idol winners, he said that “Kris is better than Ruben Studdard, not better than Taylor Hicks”. He was hesitant to elaborate on Kris’ win other than this. Didn’t seem to have a lot of confidence in Kris.
The broadcast is posted on some AI related sites if anyone cares to listen. It also contains radio interviews with Kris and with Adam.

I was sick when Allison was voted off. Sick! Kris should have gone THEN! Kris was never even a favorite for the top 13. He is destined to go into the Idol recycling bin with Ruben. He is nothing special. Top 3 should have been Adam, Allison and Danny. Adam should have won, but America likes mediocrity–makes losers feel better about their own short comings. Something was seriously off with the voting too since Adam’s fan site is averging 800 hits at any one time and Kris is averging 300. Someone else noted on this site the fan list pages: Adam had 150 yesterday afternoon, and Kris barely had 30. What happened Wednesday???

All of you Adam fans - Don’t get me wrong, I liked Adam I just am not a big rock and roll fan and I just didn’t like to hear all the screaming he did in a lot of his songs. There are a lot of people that will agree with me on Kris’s style of music because the votes told it all. You do need to get your facts straight though. AT&T did not give out the number of votes Arkansas had voted. It is their policy not to tell that. I don’t know where people are getting their facts from! Also you have to remember phone calls were also in that number of votes. I can attest that Kris’s lines were busy because I only got through to vote 4 times. Don’t put Kris down because Adam didn’t win it is not his fault. Adam could have won if he had had the Adam fans calling and texing the way that the Kris fans had. Kris, to me, is a very gifted singer and I think he will go further than you all think. Kris knew how good of a singer that Adam was and that is why he said what he said at the end of the show. Kris’s votes did not come from all teeny booper either. I have talked to many adult people (30-60) that voted for him. I know that we Kris fans had talked about that if Kris had lost it wouldn’t matter to us because as a runner-up he would still get a contract (Jamie Fox even said he would do a record with him)plus he would not have to answer to Simon Fuller. He could do his own music. So Adam fans just be happy for both of them. It’s done and over and life goes on and I for one can’t wait for the Idol concert tour. Oh and by the way I am 55!!!!!!!!!!!!

But a small group of people can determine the American Idol. It teaches American you don’t need too many people to generate 38 millions votes for the win. Find someone rich to sponsor free GO phones gave out by AT&T can make a few thousand text votes each. The Software driven VOIP power text can make 20-45K votes on each computer. Just to clarify, Cathy: I am not saying that Adam should have won Idol–I am saying that Kris should not have won! Adam’s talents far exceeded Kris’ and so it is a shame that Adam is second to him. However, there were at least 4, including Adam, more deserving that Kris –contestants that, I believe, showed much greater talent than Kris. And it would have been nice to see someone with real talent and originality win–since there were many of them this year. The wrong guy won for the wrong reasons….in my opinion, of course.

I am just a technology-deprived person who does not have texting capability, so it was very frustrating to try to get through even ONE vote by regular phone dialing. I tried for two hours to vote for Adam, and kept getting busy.I knew my vote would not matter, when there were people out there who could send a zillion texts, I just wanted to get at least one vote in for the principle of it. Unless the powers-that-be at AI change the rules so that only one call/text per phone number will count, I will not participate in AI next year. They say over 100 million votes were cast, and they say it as if over 100 million individual people voted…not true. I would be curious to know what the outcome would have been if each individual person was only able to place one vote.

Daughtry said he was for Adam ~ MAy 16 I read. I saw it on a video connected to an idol blog, and I think it was also on his fan site–though I am not sure if that is where it can be accessed. Can’t say who Carrie U was for–but I’ll take your word it was Kris. Does any of this really matter? The concensus is that Adam has many more fans than Kris and that there is a lot of uncertainty surronding the voting process. Many unanswered questions remain. This will hurt Idol viewership come Januaury. This also does not benefit Kris.
Of, I love Easy listening music ala’ John Mayer and the like. But I don’t think Kris is anywhere close to his league or the best (or 2nd, 3rd, 4th)overall this season. Adam can do more than just rock (I am not a huge rock fan either,)and he proved that with Tracks of my Tears, etal.

I think that the judges are too blame for the fact that Adam did not win. They praised him so much (deserved) but they kept saying that he was the one!! I think viewers did not want to be told who was the winner. I think judges should be made to keep their opinions of the winner to themselves on talk shows and in interviews.

Simon is saying those comments about Kris just to save his face because since the very beginning, the four of them were biased to Adam. Unfortunately, the general voting public didn’t concurred with their choice. He is also “sour-graping” just like some of the die-hard Adam’s fans.
By the way, there is one youtube posting of the Adam’s “screaming” collections of his several weeks of AI performance. Really funny, hahahaha. Really make my day, LOL, really. It could be a big hit in circus and carnivals around the world. Hahahahah.

I wondered 88M votes total in top3, only 100M in super finale? NO surprise! AI got law suit every year with the same kind of fraud. In previous season lawsuit(see the link), SBC and Verizon all verified they processed 200 million votes were not counted by AT&T. This year is highly noticeable because Adam is too famous and too obvious there is problem there. Team up by local AT&T and Arkansas. People work in telecom know very well in order to handle 38M votes throughput especially most from small town, Conway, Arkansas, without AT&T preplanned install/enhance special switch, routers, trunks…..there is no way to make it work in rural area. Probably it’s SBC, Sprints, Verizon will do the talking and verification again.

Simon did not say Kris was horrid….he was really just being honest.I think he is a blunt and honest bloke; and love him or hate him, he knows something about the music industry. He knows who is and is not marketable. But alas…I only know my own taste.
If Adam “screams” he seems to do it in-tune and his fan base–much larger than kris’ in human being count– doesn’t seem to mind it much at all! For an even bigger laugh, there is a youtube video still available with Danny Gokey’s attempt at an “Adam Scream” (unlike Adam’s it was very out-of-tune) played to the video of a gnarling cat. Very funny. I don’t think poor Danny will ever live that down–but I won’t make carnival comparisons at his expense!

So, the four AI judges have much better musical taste than the millions of the viewing USA public that gave Kris the AI crown? Really? Oh my goodness. There were times they’re not even paying attention to the performance of the contestants, so how could they judge fairly. Besides, they’re already bias to one contestant since the very beginning of the season. Now, they’re saving their faces. What a shame indeed. For the sake of professionalism, they should all quit AI.

The format of AI is popularity voting. The contestant who got the most number of votes wins the AI title. The targetted market of AI is the public. It’s the public who’s gonna buy the records, regardless of the personal opinions of the AI judges
Just like Adam, Kris has already a sure profitable market of his records and those are those millions who voted for him to be the AI winner. It’s his huge fan base also who will buy his records not the four AI judges.
Simon et al are saving their faces(particularly to Adam’s fans) now because earlier on the competition, they’d declared already Adam to be the winner of this AI season. They gave the fans a “false” hope.
The fact is,it’s not them who decides who the winner is, it’s the majority votes of the viewing public. It’s the power of the majority votes, not their superlative critiques to one contestant’s performance over the other.
This is a “bitter pill” to swallow for the losing contestants and their fans, but that’s the format of the AI show itself.

Adam is the biggest ever since Elvis Presley! Can it be that he didn’t want to win because the American Idol-stars as a matter of fact become national stars and Adams target is the whole world!? I’m convinced that Adam is going to do a world-wide success! He is so brilliant, talented, creative, humble, and different! I’ve been watching American Idol 4 seasons and I say only that all the winners so far may thank God that Adam didn’t take part of the competition before! Okay, he didn’t win, but he IS the real winner! The finales I have seen (4 of them) have ever been as magnificent as this time and I am convinced that all the biggest superstars who were there on Wednesday (or? As a British viewer this only confirms that for all its recent progress the US still can’t deal with anything outside the mainstream in terms of looks or sexuality. Adam’s talent - vocal and otherwise - FAR outshone Kris’. Adam should have won - but the majority/redneck USA couldn’t deal with that.

Adam was a winner from the outset and I hope he becomes the superstar he deserves to be.
I have learnt from the X-Factor here that if you want someone to win you have to vote vote vote; complacency doesn’t get your guy into first place. Still I predict Danny and Kris and Allison great careers and Adam Lambert will have a glittering global career and be a universal household name as great as Elvis

I can’t believe this. It was an honest vote. Those who say Kris did not deserve to win, in who’s opinion?? America voted…..Kris won. To read headlines America Got It Wrong. Did we get Pres Obama wrong too???? And as for Simon not standing up when Kris’ name was announced that is just plain poor. Simon created the show for the people to vote, they did. Have respect for your viewers and what they want for an American Idol. There have been past years I did not support the winner but hey life goes on. Kris won because he got the most number of votes from the viewing public and that’s the “rule of the game”. The results of the voting was properly counted & auditted by a third party accounting firm. Thus, there is no irregularity in the counting of votes.
All the bashings on Kris being the new AI are purely “sour graping” in my point of view.

My mouth is stuck on sad,since wednesday night, as my grandson would say. Adam was a cut above from round one. the finals were a one man show and the outcome was very predictable, but oh was i wrong. I’ve noticed there are so many “prophet of dooms” among the fanatics who are posting in here, who could foretell already the future career of Kris. I am just wondering what are their qualifications and credentials, to be able to that, including the bashings of a person who did nothing wrong to them.
For sportsmaship sake, the honorable gesture these fanatics should do, is to wish Kris, the new AI, sucesses in his career.
Those fanatics are also so judgemental as if they’re the best authorities with regards to music and the entertainment industry. I’m just wondering what qualifications, credentials and experiences these fanatics have and can put forward.
The actions, reactions and gestures of those fanatics only reflects the kind of upbringing they have, which I believe is so primitive.

well having sat through american idol for months I am totally perplexed at the result.Kris seems a lovely guy, good voice, safe and totally reliable , a little dull and boring, just mr average,. lets be honest about it his voice is instantly un recognisable,there is nothing distinctive or special about him. Adam on the other hand is truly awesome a voice so beautiful, so unique, from the soft delicate tones of a ballard, the beautiful falsetto, to the pure hard rock when he can clearly hold his own amongst some of the best! I am gutted ,truly gutted that he didnt win ,we had a similar thing over here in england with our x factor two years ago, It proves that we the fans should take nothing for granted, and vote, vote vote. Good luck to Kris , I feel he will need it .As for Adam , global superstar. He has been likened to the king and I believe people are right to do this. Where to begin? Kris is a pawn in a nasty little American backlash againt Adam. This is how “foreigners” like myself perceive his unexpected victory. Kris seems like a nice, wholesome, polite, proper man, and not an awful singer at all. But, he should not be where he is. period. It was an odd turn of events that yielded an unforseen result in what was marketed as a search for the best singer.
I heard that Simon had said in a BBC interview that the American Idol show is “just getting silly”. Couldn’t bloody agree more!

It sure is silly, Yuki. I was sure Adam would win because of all the reasons the Pro-Adam group writes here. I also liked Kris. I didn’t vote, because I liked them both equally, but really did think Adam fits the mould of an American Idol.
We’re all Americans. I truely hope you all have the same passion for our soldiers serving all over the world for our safety and our freedom to enjoy these wonderful contests and opportunities. They are the real heroes.

Again, the “rule of the competition” is the contestant who got the most number of votes from the viewing public, wins the AI tile. That’s factual and not circular reasoning. I am just stating the facts.
Kris got the most number of votes based on the auditted results done by a reputable third-party auditting firm. He is now the official AI winner for Season 8. That’s factual and not circular reasoning as one commented earlier.
Thus, all the comments and criticisms that Kris doesn’t deserved to be the winner, etc etc, are already “moot and academic” and “water under the bridge”.
The way I see it, destructive criticisms being hurled to Kris now, are purely “sour-graping”, or “face-saving” posturing from the fans of the aspiring contestants who declared earlier on that their “bet” would the next AI winner.
The lesson from this AI season is that, don’t declare yet an AI winner not until after the votes were casted, counted, auditted and officially declared during the finale.
Thus, if I may suggest, please accept the defeat of your “Idol” in the AI title magnanimously and move on. “Better luck next time” in next year AI season.
As I’ve mentioned several times already, AI is a “popularity contest” based on the number of votes casted to the contending constestants. It’s the votes of the viewing public which decides the winner, not the AI judges and not the fans of the aspiring constestants , whatever their opinions are.

I am not a fan of anyone. I am a simple opinion-writer, observer and riding on the discussion here. I watched AI just for fun and entertainment. I live outside the USA at 10,000 miles away.
There is also a local version of AI in my country. But, never I spent(and would ever spend) a single cent to vote to any contestant in a competition like that. Not worth the effort for me.
Again, I watched that local “Idol” just for fun & entertainment.

So, to distill it to it’s essence, You are rehashing what we already know to be true: AI winner is determined by who can dial faster and for a longer sustained period, install more gizmos, and therfore receive the highest number of votes. sometimes it may be the best, most popular person–sometimes not. Okay. Understood. This does not mean that Kris’ win need be accepted by all. These voting rules are American Idol’s rules. The rules do not allow the most popular or the most talented singer to necessarily win–unless this singer can align themselves with fans who are capable of performing these frantic dialing/”gizmoing” tasks. Yet, AI claims they are searching for the best singer. I believe they failed in this effort this season.

Clearly the Idol viewers have no knowledge of talent since this year was a joke. In no way was Kris even in Adam’s league talent wise even the judges knew and pulled out all stops for Adam. The judges should have the final say of who wins in the future that way we may have the really talented kids win. This was not a vote for talent but popularity. most of the viewers have no idea of rock groups they were not even alive during the 70s and 80s. I personally will not watch the show in the future.

You are so right..The voting system is very badly flawed..A large majority of watchers recognized ADAM’s talent and voted for him..Most watched just to see what ADAM would do each week..He was so very unique..An extreme talent, head and shoulders about all other contestants.By all estimations he would win..
However, anyone can vote as many times as they like, which is ridiculous…What happened, of course, is that Kris got the most votes but ADAM had the most VOTERS…It should be one vote per person..Then ADAM would have won..But it is what it is…
Arkansas, for example had 38 million votes in for Kris…There are only just over 2 million people in the entire state..Figure that one out..I,for one will probably never watch the show again and certainly will never vote again.

I totally agree and I want to thank America for Adam. Without AI it would have taken much longer for Adam to be a superstar in Europe and in the rest of the world - AND longer for us in Europe the know him. All the discussion about the winner (and the sexual appealing) is actually unnecessary because the final countdown for Adams carrier as a superstar has already started. That’s what counts. I’ve been waiting so long for a new king with true charisma, talent, ingeniousness, creativity and looks. He is found. In Adam. I liked Kris from the very beginning; he is multitalented musician – but not genius as Adam. Kris is likable as Adam, and Kris is going to be a national artist. Adam is going to be …. WHAT EVER HE WISH! I wish he is the one. I wish he fills the place for the one who is not just an entertainer but the one who gives us average people strength to carry on. Did we get Pres Obama wrong too???? And as for Simon not standing up when Kris’ name was announced that is just plain poor. Simon created the show for the people to vote, they did. Have respect for your viewers and what they want for an American Idol. There have been past years I did not support the winner but hey life goes on. If you like Adam, just go buy his CD’s, if you don’t like Kris save your money. Simon was totally wrong in pushing votes for Adam no matter how good he was. How do YOU know it was an honest vote, and how do you define an ‘honest vote’? The Presidential election is wholly different and really defies comparison for many obvious reasons. Voters are registered and have to be 18 and are required to meet other basic criteria. Not to mention they are allowed one vote per person—-Novel concept, huh?
Since you made the unlikely comparison, I will say this: Obama won FAIR and SQUARE–the jury is still out on Kris’ win.

Well, Frank and I have been on ADAM’s website..I do have that forum set up and can send messages and get them, but the only way we have been able to get into it is to click on create a new forum and type in our little password and it does come up and you can send a message…It is really not set up for what we want though…He is looking for something else..Hope we can find something before they shut this one and the other one down..

I am really disappointed that Adam did not win last week. He was OBVIOUSLY much better than Kris and all the other ones. Even Kris said it at the end, he said: ADAM DESERVES THIS.
I have read almost all these comments and people who make comments about Adam being gay has nothing to do with his singing talent, it is a singing competition after all. ADAM WAS THE BEST SINGER, PERIOD!
Oh and by the way, he doesn’t scream, he sings high notes and it’s just louder and on pitch.
I really do hope Adam wil have a great career. I will certainly buy his CD. He had a great performance with KISS that last night.

John, you will be happy to know, I have calmed down a bit..Don’t know if you can get Larry King Live on CNN…Kris and ADAM were on there last night…Kris is aware that ADAM should have won and ADAM is quite comfortable with things the way they are, and well should be..So all is well..I still think America got it Wrong once again but I did my part..If you have CNN and get Larry King live, ADAM will be on again Monday night, along with Kris and some of the other idol contestants..Hope you can get it..ADAM is our World Idol!!!

Even if Adam had won we know that he still would not have been truly happy. He would have looked at it as another accomplishment and nothing more. Kris doesn’t always hit all the notes, but thats not going to matter in the recording studio. He can redo everything a thousand times if he needs to. There is way more to singing than perfect pitch. Judging by the results, I’d say more people care about the quality and style of the vocals rather than pitch. Adam hits every note, but the sound of his voice is just unpleasant. Thats why he lost.

The AI Season 8 is an excellent Case Study in MBA(Master of Business Administration). An excellent theses material indeed.
By the way, Kris’s music can be a big big hit to “ordinary” people because these are easy tune and “ordinary” people can sing-along.
The good thing from a business point of view, there are billions of “ordinary” people around world, e.g., laborers, farmers, factory workers and those people like you and me who has no singing ability to hit high notes with our “natural” voice.
How many ordinary people can “rock” at their home or while riding a bus or jeepney. First, instruments like drums and electric guitars are needed to produce the thrilling sound or noise. Without that, there is no thrill in “rocking” a song? Or, in the absence of these instruments, ordinary people will just use pans, tin cans, etc etc? So, funny!
Second, there are also communities(i.e., urban centers) that forbids “noise” or loud sound, more so “screaming”, from drums or guitars most hours of the day. Otherwise, police will knock at your door and you will be charged with “noise pollution” which is covered by environmental laws of many countries.
Loud “noise” are also forbidden in public places and public vehicles for safety reason.
The way I see it, this is the advantage of Kris’s music over that of Adam’s, when we talk about business potentials of selling records.
The rock genre and the “rockers” have so many constraints to overcome to really become a big hit to ordinaty people this modern times unlike in the old days, circa 60’s or 70’s.
Just my point of view.

As I stated in previous posts, Adam is the best this year–but if Danny or Allison did overtake him in the finale, I’d feel like it was legit. Not Kris.
Btw, some of us really loved ‘Ring of Fire’. It is one of my fav Adam songs. I felt his twist was original and stylistically creative and his voice and tonal inflections were beautiful. I know others agree…
Interesting data released by ITunes: of the ITunes top 33 downloads–Adam has 17 and he also has the top selling ITunes “album”–which is a compilation of his songs on American Idol. Kris–the winner who gets a huge boost from being the new AI and therefore should have overtaken Adam at this point, has 5 top downloads on ITunes in comparison, and no ranking for his album. Interesting–looks like the American consumer prefers Adam!
What has some people unhappy about the result is that we know Adam has more fans and something is amiss with the voting process. Adam was cheated. End of story. But, alas…life goes on.

At this point, Kris has the huge advantage of winner status and should have seen a large boost directly after winning–but it seems Adam’s style of music is prefered by most consumers.
I think Simon knows a wee bit about the music business and clearly, he is not overly enthused about Kris’ win and preferred Adam. why do you think? He has a financial stock in AI!

I’d add too that on Itunes, because Kris is the declared AI winner, anyone purchasing his songs has an additonal incentive–they get other songs included for free—-a “package deal”. This incentive by ITunes is NOT being offered to people purchasing Adam’s songs–they end up paying more $$ for the same # of songs with no package incentive. Yet, Adam is still ahead in sales, lol! The Idol producers must be pissed. I guess “Vote for the Worst” got it right when they chose Kris as their pick saying it would piss off the Idol producers trying to market Mr. Vanilla. Clearly, Adam has shown an early lead and a stronger fan base at a time when Kris has every advantage and incentive working in his favor. Good going Adam!

Chrys, on the surface your well thought out argument seems viable except for the fact that most “ordinary” people in the countries you describe aren’t going to spend their hard earned money on anyone’s music. So, from a business point of view they are not going to matter that much.
As nonny mouse so aptly pointed out Simon has a financial stake in the success of American Idol contestants and it was obvious who he thought which contestant would be the most successful.
My musical preference is country and it’s pretty much all I listen to but I’ve not seen a talent like Adam come along in years. He’s the first contestant I voted for and with the right guidance I feel can be an international star.
Just my humble opinion.

But, that’s in North America and first-world countries where the middle-class people can afford the high-end “gadgets” like what you’re saying. Myself, I am not even into that ITunes and that other “stuff”. I am not that “hi-tech” yet.
The fact is, the growth region globally are the developing countries with billion population of “ordinary” people in the lowest echelon of society, who can afford only to buy cheap CD’s of their favorite artist or musicians. This is a “gold mine” in this market, that’s why “pirated” CD business is thriving in these regions because these are cheap and affordable to the masses.
Also, these ordinary people could not afford to attend paid concerts, thus, not a profitable target market. Of course these people would attend concerts if for free to the public. But would there be big artist or Superstars or company or sponsors who are willing to hold free concert to the masses in the remote regions of the world?
This is the era of global commercialism, that’s the reality. Business-sense, is a major consideration in investing capital in building or promoting new artists like Kris or Adam. Who will give more returns?

Too much attention on this stuff. Get a grip people. The winner of AI is not going to put food on your table, keep your job, or change your life in anyway. We all have opinions but this steaming off on something that doesn’t effect our lives or those we love in anyway is ridiculous. Can you name all the Supreme Court Judges? They can effect your life. And to the 38 million votes in Arkansas - that was wrong - if you listen to the news they broadcast that wrong. There is no way Ark. could cast 38 million votes. 2 million people, that incluses elderly, middle age, young, kids, babies, people in hospitals, and more important all the people who are not Idol Fans in the state. That is a lot. So just think how can can many people vote 38 million times not even on computers. Face it American voted Kris the American Idol. It is sad to see so many people can be soooo ugly. Maybe your different brand of fans that Kris allen has. God Bless all of you for your most critical oppinions. I believe Kris fans would have never been so cruel. How do you know for sure Arkansas didn’t use computers? How do you know for sure 38 million votes didn’t come from Arkansas??? There’s no proof they didn’t. Yeah…mighty odd. At&T released the figures THEMSELVES after the vote and win that 38K votes came through the little state of AR– popualtion 2.8K. Then, after the unanticpated firestorm of questions, accusations–their statement was summarily retracted, with no explanation whatsoever offered by the huge corporation as to why they originally released statistics which they now claim are untrue.
Well, I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m still scratching my head. Hmmmmm….

1. Adam is a much greater talent
2. Adam has more fans
3. Adam is more marketable due to his talent
4. More humans voted for Adam
5. More votes came in for Kris from a much smaller geographic area
6. Adam was not pimped, Adam was great and the judges and AI knew it, and he was critiqued honestly
7. Adam is the best contestant AI has ever seen
8. Simon Cowell knows music and the industry
9. Adam is already outselling Kris more than 3 to 1 without the benefit of the recognition of the win
10. Adam should have won
It is what it is. Let’s put the debate to rest.

This result has turned me off American Idol. I have watched the show for soooo long and Adam Lambert was without a doubt the class act, and to think that it is so painfully obvious who is the best, and they give it to someone else, tells me that either the American discernment is in a low fog, or somehow there is a way for a person to ring up a million times to sway the votes deceitfully.

There is no Kris bashing here–just honest opinion and statemnt of FACT. I see no “bashing” at all of Kris. But I will say, without bashing, that because of the uncertainty surrounding the legitimacy of his win (as reported on many sites, blogs, news sources–not just here), and the external indicators all pointing to an Adam win, that this win will ultimately cost Kris in the long term.

I picked Adam right from the auditions as one to watch. He is awesome!! I think though that Kris suits the “USA Idol” genere more than Adam. Adam is an amazing vocalist and showman. He reminds me, for some reason of Elvis. He will go far and now will be able to do or sing what he wants. Rather than having to fit into a specific mould. Also loved Allison!! Can’t wait to see what they get up to in the future.

Maree-New Zealand - ADAM reminded me also of Elvis from the very beginning…That first audition night, I called my sister, also a huge Elvis fan, and told her to turn to the channel, that this guy was on that looked like Elvis, if he had a haircut!! I kept hoping he would sing an Elvis song, but I guess he wants to be his own person and he is that…Fantastic. I have not been as excited about a huge talent since Elvis…

Maree, Adam does kind of look like Elvis, especially when he combs his hair back. He is just as controversial as Elvis was when he first got started. Most of the parents back then though Elvis was the devil incarnate.
As Mary Anne pointed out a while back when he first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show they would only show him from the waist up. You probably have never heard of the Ed Sullivan show but in the 50s and 60s everybody who was anybody appeared on that show - including the Beatles when they first came to America.

Adam is appearing on the CBS Early Show–it is being taped Tuesday live in NYC (I am going to try to make it since I am in the general area), but it will air on the show THURSDAY morning. If I can figure out the general time, I will post it here. Rickey.org, an Amerian Idol site, is pretty good about updating the media appearances of the Idol contestants. Expect it to air on CBS this THURSDAY between the hours of 7:00-9:oo AM.

And to think that this coronation of Kris is actually a larger upset than the Ruben/Clay of season 2. It seems, as I understand it, there is a computer program called Gizmo…100,000 votes per minute can be cast on this Gizmo..Thus the 38 million, which resulted in Kris’ win…I know nothing about this Gizmo..
I do know the American Idol voting systerm is seriously flawed…Anything goes, so anything is legal to cast votes..

I have also some training in music as a member of a company choir that won grandslam in several competitions and also as church choir member.
To my knowledge and experience as a singer myself(my voice is a Tenor 2), an excellent singer has a wide vocal range(of several octaves) if he or she could hit the highest note with his or her natural voice, with ease and excellent tone quality. Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli(and other celebrity tenors) and that guy who won the “Britain’s Got Talent” last year belong this league of fantastic singers.
This is the primary reason why, personally I’m not impressed of Adam’s vocal talent.

Lol! Yeah..I figured that one out. There seems to be to be a certain path the Anti-Adam crowd follows–sort of like a 12 step program. Begin by appearing as the “voice of reason” and remain non-commital to either camp. The more intelligent ones, like Chrys, will then continue to claim over and over to be “unaffiliated” and not a fan of either contestant. When they receive negative feedback they will resort to using their reasoning skills in an attepmt to influence others as to why one person may be better than the other(in his case, Kris)–they always seem to support the lesser talent–the one they like. Then they will try to blind you with science or business acumen to cloud the situation; then after a few failed attempts–lo and behold–they themsleves have musical and/or vocal ability and expertise!– sometimes they even profess to be a musician/vocalist themselves–professional level! Surely their opinion must now carry more weight…Oops! forgot to mention my musical/vocal experience in my previous 30 posts..lol!

I believe that Adam is TAPING the show at 9:00 am Tuesday–but it will not be aired until Thursday’s show (while the CBS Early Show is live–some portions of segments are taped).

I have never seen so many people be so negative on a web site as all of you are concerning Adams loosing American Idol. Other Idols fans were never this vicious on their web sites. This is sad that you can’t be happy for Kris and know Adam is going to be fine.
Be an Adam fan and be disappointed he lost but give Kris the credit he deserves. Don’t be a poor sport. News media is already talking about what poor loosers the Adam fans are. I have already heard them talk about this on radio. I was not a kris or adam fan but I am happy for kris. Have always been happy for the winner.Try to talk positive about adam and leave the negative out. Bless you

Well, from my view as a non-Amercian…this is how I see it…. Adam fans love this magnum force of a man. Kris fans seem to be Kris fans because they do not like Adam…not because they are Kris fans! Just read all the replies - I am a HUGE adam fan and felt he deserved to win. America got it wrong again - not surprised. In this day and age it is okay and acceptable for a guy to wear eyeliner, black nail polish and be gay. Does that make someone bad? No, it doesn’t. In fact, Adam was so modest and humble. And that America is a lesson to be learned. Not once from watching this season’s American Idol was Adam ever rude,cocky or arrogant. From some of the replies people stated that they wouldn’t watch American Idol again because of the obvious fixed result and because America is not open minded. Remember the cliche “A book should never be judged by its cover” and that’s exactly what America did. One should teach the American Idol show a lesson for allowing such stupidity. Don’t just say you will never watch the show again but acutally get the ball rolling and get a WORLDWIDE boycott going for the next upcoming season of Amercian Idol. Anyone game?

As a big Adam fan I don’t blame Kris. In fact he seems to be a big Adam fan. I also don’t fault those who voted for him. That’s what they should have done if they liked his music.
I think the fault lies in the system. American Idol is as much a voting contest as a talent contest.
For those blaming America, there is no proof that the majority of the voters voted for Kris, just that he got more votes. There’s a big difference. Of course there is no proof that Adam had the largest number of voters. I say the American Idol system got it wrong.
One thing that is pretty clear is that the world as a whole is made up of a huge number of Adam fans. We can show our support of who we think is best by posting in blogs, buying his CDs, iTunes, etc. and attending his concerts.
I would like to see Adam fans take the high road and praise Adam rather than attacking Kris. If you feel like attacking something, attack the system.

#489–agree. if anyone didn’t notice the enormous talent differential when Adam and Kris were singing with Queen then they are not only tone deaf–but deaf! Adam was actually restrained a bit, and had he come out with his full force vocals–I think Kris would have blown off the stage–quite literally.
Shiok #491–America has not spoken. A minority group of Kris fans and anti-Adam fans have spoken via Gizmo 5 and power texting and rabid voting. We still claim that Adam has more individuals who voted for him as evidenced by his popularity in song sales/downloads, on-line polls taken directly after the finale and fan site traffic/activity which all far outnumber Kris….. and now at a time when Kris has the wind at his back and a lot of support from Idol, publicity, etc. from this win. But again, Kris is not at fault, the Idol voting system is.
So folks–I’ll shut up about Adam’s win being stolen (considering his much larger fan base and Idol’s faulty voting process)if you Kris fans stop pretening that Kris actually DESERVED to win, and that he won fairly.

I have noticed that some of you Kris fans criticize Adam for not playing an instrument while performing on Idol. And you made it a reason to undermine his talent. That’s not true. I have watched Adam perform before he was famous on Idol and he actually plays guitar sometimes. It was good but watching him without an instrument and just him and his voice was even more amazing. Watching him perform always felt like a privilege. What a talent. Kris never made me felt that way although he is also an okay singer but he is just ordinary. It is also not right to match voice talent VS. playing instruments, after all, it is not an instrument playing competition but singing competition.
Whatever the result and who won the title, I do think good things are coming for such a talent and personality as Adam but I do applaud and encourage those who voice out their complaints. Its a sign that something is amiss and it is good when people complain if they notice something wrong. Because people are good thinkers, not just passive listeners but they notice things. And they have the right to voice them out.
That is why I do not approve of those people who try to put down Adam fans and everyone else who voice out their amazement that Adam lost to Kris. And I noticed that its not just Adam fans, but most rational viewers would notice immediately the far disparity between the two contestants.
When something is wrong but people who notice do not complain, then there is no justice.
So I encourage all of you Adam defenders and all free thinkers do not be overcome by those who try to shut you up. You have good reason.

Ardi goes beyond that by condemning people to certain horrible places. people like that do not belong in civilized society.

Adam Lambert won’t rule out a stint as the new frontman of Queen. The legendary band has expressed interest in employing the “American Idol” runner-up’s formidable vocal skills, and Lambert is a big fan of the group once fronted by the late Freddie Mercury.
But the 27-year-old California native said in an interview Tuesday that he’d feel torn about joining the band.
“That’s a tough question because, honestly, how do you say no to being in Queen?” said Lambert, sporting his trademark dark nail polish and blue-streaked hair. “I mean, that’s unbelievable. But at the same time, I do have my own thing to do right now, and that’s my goal. So if I could, I would try to do both. That’s the honest question. I would try to do both. I would love to perform with them anytime they wanted me to but I also have my record to do. So, we’ll see.”
Lambert, a former theater actor, has ambitious plans for his post-”Idol” debut album.
“My record will be kind of a rock-pop-electronic-dance thing,” he said. “I don’t know how to describe it. I think it’s gonna take on a life of its own, as far as genre goes.”
The album is in the very early stages and Lambert aims to co-write much of the material.
On “Idol,” Lambert was the resident glam rocker, staging elaborate, over-the-top performances and daring to don goth-inspired outfits (with guyliner) on an otherwise family-style show.
“There’s a way to take the glam rock of the ’70s and the classic rock of the ’70s and kind of modernize it. … I want it to be produced in a very, very current, almost futuristic, way. So we’re going to come up with something really fresh,” he said.
The musical mix will include “sexy, dance-y, vibe-y” numbers and more emotional songs that “appeal to people that are going through a hard time or don’t believe in themselves,” he said.
“I want to communicate the liberation that is being comfortable in your own skin and that is being your own person,” said Lambert, who has largely kept his personal life under wraps. “And the spirit of being different, and how strong that can make you feel.”

Wow, did y’all hear on Good Morning America this morning that AT&T personnel admitted to providing assistance to Kris fans holding voting parties in Arkasas during the final voting. Showing them how to vote in blocks of 10, etc.
I have not idea if this is speculation at this time or is true.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I hope this is investigated. It makes no sense that Kris, who may have a career as a back-up singer for Adam, would win. Clearly Allison, Danny, and even Anoop and Lil were better, not just Adam. It is a travesty. I hope Adam is vindicated and Idol either folds or they drastially change their voting system. News in the UK is Simon is trying to release himself from his contract. I think he is sick of the crap. He never spoke to Kris nor congratualted him. I think he is that dismayed over the bogus result.

There is concern among some of us that this site will eventually go away and we’ll lose touch with each other. I’ve looked into several alternative sites and have not found any to be both as user friendly and as interactive as blogging sites which allow comments such as this one.
Last night I created a blog that will allow us to share our thoughts and other information about Adam. It’s not the most sophisticated blog site but is functional. Right now I consider it a work in progress.
I’ve also posted an article about why I think Kris won and Adam lost.

Joe’s Place is an Idol Blog that is moderated and Adam-friendly. Yes, there are some jerks there too who pop in time to time with bigoted comments, but for the most part–they get blocked before it gets out of hand. I will visit your new Yahoo–but my experience is that private sign-in blogs/message boards don’t get much traffic and usually become extinct quite quickly.

Kris Allen really sucks. I cannot believe he won legit. Simon was sure pissed. He is a boring, folksy little squirt. What is so orginal and intersting about him that he should WIN? After watching for 8 seasons, I have to say he is the WORST DIOL YET! What was so bad about Adam? He has class, was orginial and really made me want to watch the show each week. Allison was also good. Kris is a joke and I, for one, will be happy when he fades into oblivion like Ruben Studdard–only more quickly.

I will say what I like. I can never view the American Idol show again and I wrote fox a very voluminous missive.. They were not even sure if this misfit, average, guitar strummer would even make it to top 13–and stupid Amerians cheat and vote for him. Adam is the Idol and he will be revered in Europe–and beyond. AAsop, Kris is not awful to some people, including Adam. There were an awful lot of stupid Americans, such as myself, who voted for Adam. In fact there is a possibility that Adam had more voters just not more votes. That we’ll probably never know - though I think the technology exists to determine such.
Many of us stupid Americans who consider ourselves Adam fans as much as anyone in the world are religious, southern, and probably even Baptist. Many American posters for Adam on here are well educated. As far as cultured, I’ll be the first to admit I’m just a dumb old country boy who has little culture.

I’m not really a Kris fan, but I’m not sure I’d go that far.
Should Adam have won based on talent? YES, of course. Did he win? NO! Is it the fault of ’stupid’ Amerians? No, I don’t think so. AI has their voting system in place, so complain to them.
In the meantime, if you don’t like someone–nobody can force you to buy their music. However, if you do like Adam, by all means support him now by buying his music!

I observed even from the very beginning that the judges were a bit perplexed why Kris always knock competitions like Anoop, Lil, Danny, Allison and more so Adam. They try to make justifications over their own perplexity by saying that Kris had soul, was original, but come on… In all Idol seasons Kris is definitely outshone by many others who were also soulful, original and with more charisma…look at Jason Castro, Daughtry, and many more but they did not even win…now with this new development that AT&T might have caused irregularities, I hope they do an extensive investigation over the matter so that we will finally have real answers and stop all this hoopla. Its the only way we can get back the honor of America, Arkansas, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, both their fans and American Idol…and Simon. The most courageous judge.
SIMON, I don’t want a fraud such as this to be the cause that you will leave American Idol. We have loved your brutal honesty from the beginning and there is no way you should quit because of the dishonesty that others are doing. Live up to your LION spirit and be the one to lead this investigation on this year’s American Idol voting process please. I still want to watch AI next year and I still want to see all the four judges especially you but I just want Adam Lambert, his fans, and all the voters of America and observers around the world to see the light and be vindicated from this mess.

Call me a conspiracy theorist too. Something is wrong for sure. I don’t think bashing Kris helps though. It is unfortunate that Idol has become what it is now: A contest where the “team” who organizes the best ground campaign wins–regardless of talent and popularity of their “candidate”. Large Behemoth corporations like AT&T are needed for support.
In the long term, Kris loses. He has to prove himself now more than ever. Adam wins…he is seen as the uncrowned victor. But don’t feel too good about this, Adam fans…he really did deserve and desire that “moment”–which he never will have. The whole situation is mostly unfair to Adam.

If he had tried to sing it like Johnny Cash it would have been a disaster. Unlike a lot of contestants, Adam realized he had to make the song his own which, in his case, meant applying the lyrics to a music style that he was comfortable with.

Hi y’all. Yes, it has been quiet today. I haven’t spent much time on adamofficial or joe’s place. Neither seem to as conducive to interaction as these American IDOL-type sites.
It’s unfortunate that this is drying up but was probably inevitable. We Lambert fans might have been outvoted but we weren’t to be our commented on here. Our own success is probably the downfall of the site.

B) That he was deemed by America as a Better Idol than Adam.
C)that he became so humble and self denigrating about his win,which deprived viewers of the correct zing and Zap a Idol crowning should have.

I guess I’m not as magnanimous and high minded as Adam! Lol! Does Adam have any other choice than to be…or appear…comfortable with the results? Maybe it is enough for him to realize that more people, humans, actually voted for him–he just was not lucky enough to be the recipient of 1000 calls/texts per phone line, lol!
Anyway, I only wish that Fox would come forward and take some responsibility, i.e.: “we have decided to take measures in the future to prevent this by limiting the number of calls (votes) from any single source and to exclude any computer generated calls whenver possible”. Rupert can word it as he feels fit….you get the drift.
As it stand, after 8 years of this fun, I absolutley will never watch again. I hope Simon does squeal out of his AI contract as reported in the UK news media.

K, yes I heard some music professionals on a talk show here in Nashville yesterday debating the huge voting mess with AI this year…They felt that FOX and/or AI will have to address the voting system eventually and will have to make changes after this complete and total farce…However, I feel they will probably sweep it under the rug and try and continue on as is..I know they have lost a huge amount of credibility and I know I, for one will never vote again..

Anyway, there is certainly some activity there still because he keeps updating the site with Kris and Adam appearences, magazine articles, interveiws. He can be provocatibve though. He has his finger on the post-Idol pulse.

I also posted under Rickey’s pro-Kris spin article on the ITunes sale. I called him on it, and he will either ignore me or respond in a cranky manner. Watch my back over there Adam fans.
It can be fun over there but there are many more Kris fans now since he won and since Rickey is a huge man-love Kris fan, they all suck up to him. There are still a numebr of Glameberts as well. I don’t see a lot of flaming–but if a pro-Kris person flames, Rickey ignores it–if a pro-Adam person flames–he repsonds very unkindly! People are, for the most part, on best behavior.

If y’all want to keep the Idol 8 discussion going, he does update his blog pretty regularly–though some of his spin is ridiculous and tabloidish. It can be frustrating over there as he is not very objective.
There is alos Joe’s, Mj’s and a few others like EW. But I think these larger sites like Hollywood celeb and EW will be moving away from Idol discussion very soon.

K, FrankinTally, been doing alot of thinking. Something is wrong with us. We do seem to pick on everyone that likes Kris. It’s beginning to make me feel like a hypocrit. Adam isn’t that great. Like I said before, I think I like him so much because he reminds me of my mother. Or is it my father? I’m not sure which because on any given day I’m not sure if he’s a man or a woman. guys i saw CNN and all the idols were there and danny said to ryan seacrest that he called kris as winner in his blog. before the declaration of winner. he said because maybe the people’s sympathy will be towards the underdog and that the judges praising adam too much hurt adams votes. because maybe because of that the people will want to give chance to those that are not so complimented. paula said also she was there, that the judges are just being true to what they feel in their hearts who really has the talent and that they were just being real when they praised adam. i think danny was sour graping that he got less praise than adam, especially that katie perry cape. i think kris has a better attitude than danny. and adam is a graceful runner-up. he did not sour grape at all. maybe because he knows his fans will never leave him and in the long running he will eventually be the winner. and i think kris won not because of talent but of swing votes from danny fans. and maybe also it is true that there were some cheating. who knows. all i know is that his win does not sound so good therefore it is not a good way to win. but kris is nice.

You dumb, girl! Adam’s album (which is not ‘pick and choose’, but includes all of his singles is #6 (was previosuly #2) and Kris’ didn’t even make the list! Check out the ITunes list instead of “picking and choosing” your stats. This is a very poor barometer of Kris popularity. Besides, as the perceived winner, Kris, natuarally, has the hype and the momentum. It should be easy for him to overtake Adam…but it is not! It will fade–big time–just like with Taylor Hicks–in a matter of months he was quickly overtaken by Daughtry who lost. One would think that the media buzz would be all about Kris given the win, but it is not. It is all about ADAM! THE WORLD IDOL!!!!!

ITunes ALBUM SALES has Adam in the top 10 for the 3rd (maybe even 4th) week in a row! Kris does not make the top 10 list AT ALL AND NEVER HAS! –or the top 20, or the top 30! Seriously! I thought he won?? Maybe folks like ALL of Adam’s songs but only one or two of Kris. Sure seems that way! This is a better barometer as it contains a compilation of all songs in season 8 for each contestant.

People have been buying Adam’s music all along, we know this because during Idol Itunes mistakenly released these figures, and Adam was consistenly far ahead. Since Adam has been selling the whole time–many more people already had his music. Those who did not download then are now downloading his entire album (# 8 this week, #6 last week, #2 the week before that). Kris’s album has never made it past the top 32 album dowload and I agree with Ciara that this is a better barometer. Any momentum Kris has received from the win will indeed fade soon.

Stop it with the pretense! Kris is talented but he is not at all in Adam’s league. What is this with the Americans and the underdog crap? Why do you have to be so PC? The worng man won. This does not mean that Kris is untalented, but let’s face it, it is painfully obvious that Adam is far superior. I don’s get it. Where to begin? I think Adam is not back from NY to the West Coast yet. I expect he will be on Ellen over the next two weeks and probably followed by the late night circuit. They threw him right in the big apple almost immediately after the finale (so not to steal Kris’ thunder in LA?)–though Kris, as winner, was allowed to go on Ellen (LA) and Leno (LA) before venturing East.
Since Rickey has been stingy with his Adam scoop, Ive been checking “MJ’s BIg Blog”. She is usually up to date with top 3 media appearences. I’ll update here if I see anything.
Frank, since you are the new Earl of Indianapolis (Adam’s birth place), I believe it is your appointed duty to locate a suitable site where we can convene.

definitely adam! the fashion sense, the charisma and VOICE! danny and adam were the frontliners here. kris was a surprise. he was an eye candy but we never expected him to be in top 5. winner? NO!!!!

Funny fact for all of you across the pond. In the UK, the stir that Susan Boyle’s defeat has caused is minimal in comparison to the Adam Lamberts’ upset over here! Yes the American has quite a European fan base. It is shocking to understand the effect that Mr. Lamberts has on us Brits! Surely we would have thought that Miss Boyle’s defeat would have been a greater shock. But, no, your Idol runner up is a WINNER in our eyes!
And you lucky Americans get to see him on the telly!

London, he’s has a big affect on a large number of Americans as well. Even though you can’t see him on the telly, there are some sites on the Web that will show most of his interviews and performances to date.
Check out Joe’s Place and Rickey.org. The former is more Adam friendly than the second but the second seems to be a little more current. Both have links to telly interviews and performances.

Jag, if you just type in the base address without the www or http stuff and the .com ending in the newer browsers and hold down the CTRL key while hitting Enter the browser will put the stuff on for you, including the .com. Now you know Grasshopper.
By the way, the actor who was found dead today, David Carridine played the student in Kung Fu who was called Grasshopper.

K, he was the young adult monk that was trained by the monk who was the kung fu master. Another actor played his character as a young boy. The kung fu master referred to him as “Grasshopper”.

Adam Lambert is the best vocalist so far in American Idol. I am anxious to hear his solo album and wish it would include more of his romantic, sentimental, and soulful persona reflected in his style. He does everything right, but now he needs to connect to the song so that the listerner will want to sing his songs with him…or at least try. The technique is excellent…now the connection to the mood of the theme and lyrics of the song.
Way to go Adam. Your talent is unique. Hold the high notes and let out the feelings.

myrta, I agree with you 100%…ADAM was by far the most talented contestant but Kris got the most votes…Many, many ADAM fans were extremely disappointed..But ADAM will be OK because everyone has seen him now and most feel the same way we do so he will go far and will be an international mega star…You are correct…The best man did not win but he will win in the long run..

Is it a rumor? I heard that SNL wants Adam to host and they made it clear to Fox that they do not want Kris Allen. Like evryone NBC needs to be concerned with ratings too. Has anyone else heard this rumor? That Adam will be hosting Satruday Night Live? Has anyone heard that Adam will grace the cover of Rolling Stone next month? Are any of these rumors true?

ADAM ‘TIL THE END! Yes, ADAM is indeed on the cover of the new Rolling Stones Mag. and it has a great interview with ADAM in it..I understand it will go on sale this Friday…You can go to the Rolling Stones website and see the pictures and read ADAM’s Interview..
As for Saturday Night Live, I have heard the rumor that ADAM would be on but I have not heard anything official regarding that…I hope it is not just a rumor and will prove to be reality!!

My husband & I watched AI every week and we believed that ADAM would be the winner in the finale. We were SHOCKED that KRIS won instead of ADAM. We voted as often as we could get into the phone system and so did millions of other ADAM fans. He was the best choice of all and the most talented. It doesn’t matter about his sexuality or his black nail polish. We were in awe about his phenomenal natural talents.We loved ALLISON too and she should have been in 2nd place, with ADAM as #1. KRIS was ok, but a ballad singer only. ADAM could do any song to perfection and could sing with any famous group they paired him with. I have been reading about Arkansas having an unfair voting system, which really sucks. I think only one vote per phone number should be the law. If that were true, ADAM & ALLISON would have been the winners. I feel like a lot of other people do. Why vote anymore in the future, if my vote never counted. I saw the same thing happen with BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT, and DANCING WITH THE STARS. On BGT, SUSAN BOYLE should have won instead of a lesser known dance act, DIVERSITY. What good does it do to vote for anyone if other systems have it all rigged for who they want to win? I don’t think it is the individual voter’s fault but the company’s or systems who can rig the voting system. What a shame. I still believe that ADAM LAMBERT & SUSAN BOYLE will always be the true winners, not the ones who actually won on those TV shows. It is sad that it all ended up so very wrong.WE LOVE ADAM IN AMERICA.

Carol, I hear you! I will never watch Idol again, even if Simon remains. I’ve watched all 8 seasons–missed 1/2 of season 3 when I was in Germany that year–but have watched consistently each season since (and before). NEVER again because our votes DO NOT COUNT! The flawed voting system was allowed to proceed when Idol knew the results rendered could very wll be bogus. TALENT AND SINGING ABILITY DOES NOT MATTER, NOR DOES POPULARITY SO WHY BOTHER WATCHING??????????
So we get stuck with the boring, pedestrian, banjo-boy with no style. WHAT A FREAKIN’ DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!

Adam is the best singer the idol has ever seen. Outstanding voice and performance. You can keep saying Kris was the best, this is not so true. Kris has a boring voice and look. He is such a plain performer. Will not buy his disks, just a waste of money. But will buy Adam’s records, I am sure he will come up with something that will be played for years.
