How many more times are they going to tell Lil the same thing and spend so much time telling her. Other contestants deserve some time and every time she sings they spend 10 minutes telling her she is a great singer but hasn’t proved it yet. Stop sucking her up and vote her off.
April 8th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Scott I still luv ya!
Have fun on the tour!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
thank god! i’ve hated him since the auditions! he was just getting through on sympathy!!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Scott HAS been an inspiration to everyone. BUT as I watched the other members sing with Scott, everyone of them took him with them wherever he was suppose to be. I am just so proud of them to do that. They have enough to think about for their own careers, yet they always made sure Scott was where he was suppose to be. Hats off to them. I wish someone would acknowledge their work with Scott for all these weeks.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
I wasn’t much of a fan of Scott throughout the competition, however, I still found myself rooting for the judges to give him the save. I actually had a tear for him. But all in all, we know he wasn’t going to go all the way.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
I can’t believe they did not save him. Anoop needs to go home!!! Scott deserved to stay. Others had bad weeks preiously and were saved. Scott you are great and talented!! American Idol has really let me down. Finaly to watch a show that lets a person with a disability prove he is talented I don’t care who wins and I not going to watch this show anymore. Adam will probalby win but Danny should.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Off course not!!! A million tones of NOT for Lil and Anoop. Big sympathy for Scott but to be honest, his voice was just not reflected a professional singer…sooooo different from Lil…it is just not the time until she picks the right song..so, she deserves to reminded over and over again, cause SHE DESERVES IT!!!! Period!!!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Okay I like both Scott and Anoop but I think when it comes down to it I think Scott is got what it takes. He is a great singer and he is great at the piano. I honestly thought Anoop should have gone home.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Simon, Paula, Kara, Randy, you all were given the chance to become sucessful and you have deined Scott of his chance. Lil should of been gone but next week if she gets voted off and you save her you all are a joke. Scott follow your dream!! You are the best!!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
why is anoop in the bottom 2??? he doesnt deserve it.. compared to chris, anoop is a better singer… its not that i dont like chris but vocally wise there are other singers like anoop that really can sing.
will america vote for som1 who really got the “talent for singing” not for som1 who is just “handsome”..
April 8th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
I did not agree with Simons elimination of Scott McIntyre. I feel Lil Rounds must come from a big family and lots of friends as there is no way in H— that she should still be in there. I have felt for the last 3 or 4 times that she should have been gone. Even Simon thought she sounded too much like a Kareoke singer and I agree with him on that too.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Scott did not deserve to go off tonite. He was not the best, but come on the talent this year overall sucks…He did a good job tonite and certainly better than the other 2 in the bottom. Adam will probably win .. Where are the girls this year anyway??? i agree with the above
Sue….
April 8th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
i think ANOOP ): should of been eliminated
April 8th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Anoop should not be in the bottom 3,honestly, his vocals is marvelous with the song he picked. I honestly believe, Scott has to go but I do ADMIRE him, only few people like him are given the chance for exposure but I know Scott has a long way to go career wise. Hey, Lil, will you listen to the judges this time, please? You’ve got the voice and the talent, girl!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
anoop should have gone
April 8th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
I think Lil needs to go. The last several weeks the judges keep telling her she is not doing well. Get rid of her. The others try hard to take the judges suggestions and improve. Lil is another “Teddy Bear” to the judges & they will push until they get the fans to get behind her. WRONG!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
I am sick and tired of hearing Lil can sing and every week she comes out and sings a Karaoke renditions of the original artists songs. She does nothing that is her own. Yet the judges will not save someone like Scott who worked his rear off to make each and every song his own. When has Lil ever done that through out this entire competition. She needs to go she is a copy cat of good artists nothing more
April 8th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
One thing for sure, LIL is simply the best!!! Go go go, girl, just like the Williams Sisters did!!! Just ignore this bunch of haters comment!!! You are the next American Idol!!! Obama support you behind the screen!!!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I think Lil needs to go home she is too karaoke….
April 8th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
It must be my age but I think all the music is horrendous. I thought Scott was a good singer. I’m tired of hearing all the yelling and screaming. It would be nice to hear someone like Scott win or like last year’s David Archuletta. David Cook didn’t impress me either. Guess I’m stuck on the “good music” of yesterday.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Are u kidding me America.? Scott you had my vote not for your handycap but for your skills baby.Did the judges make the right decision? NO they kept Anoop.why?
April 8th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
yes Lil can sing no doubt about it but for the past few weeks Lil didnt show originality in the songs she picked. thats reality..
April 8th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
I think the decision was right. Anoop is realy good! Lil will do good, but not the best. Scott was not that good. I give him credit, but not an american idol!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
i that person erica needs to get a life getting through on sympathy.. Scott you are a wonderful person and i will miss u…
April 8th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
they kept anoop because he really can sing. i also love scott but if you compare their performances last night well anoop did his song justice..
April 8th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Scott took a risk last night to show his “funk and folk side” as recommended by Paula many times. I thought he did a great job, disability aside. He tries hard and has shown a range of songs with and without the piano. Lil, on the other hand, does the same let down performance week after week. They only have 1 save this season and I don’t think Lil deserved it. Scott, this is just the beginning!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
ok…they had the right three on the block, they should be already gone in one show and then the real singers can battle it out! Then it becomes just a battle of styles w/o Megan!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Paula you owe Scott a big apology for telling him not to play the piano. I agree that the judges had the opportunity to do the right thing tonite but they blew it!! And the comments about Scott getting the sympathy vote and how the others had to help him around the stage/ Where do we live? Last time I checked we live in a country that suppose to help our fellow citizens. I guess that is why this country is so much trouble we only care about ourselves. Scott you will be okay you are great!!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Great run for Scott, i’m glad he made it that far.
Anoop and Lil are on the hot spot now, one of them will surely be eliminated the next round regardless of their rivals performance, Whoever has been voting for Anoop and Lil the past few weeks is surely bored of saving them over and over, both of them played all their cards, Anoop’s greatest performance would be singing the right notes he can’t hit high notes, Lil can sing her butt off but not enough to compete the other contestants.
April 8th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
Ok Back up off my girl Lil. I love her and think she is amazing. I hope she really starts to do better she has it in her for sure! Go Lil
April 8th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
I agree maybe Scott wasen’t the best this week but by far he was better than Lil. She keeps saying next time, but it never comes. Just who exactly are they saving their save for? Let me guess, Adam right? please no Why have it then.
So glad Matt was safe! Keep on shining!
April 8th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
I think Scott had gone as far as he can. He has done an admiral job. But nothing fantastic to be an “Idol”. Lil does nothing but sing a song, well but not fantastic, last night we found out that Allison has been taking vocal coaching for 3 or 4 years therefore singing at concerts, and we’ve known that Adam does professional theatre
from the git go. No wonder they were so comfortable on stage. Matt and Chris are forgetable. That leaves only Danny and Anoop. Anoop reminds me of great old singers like Perry Como or Johnny Mathis and Danny more like an Elton John or Billy Joel (without the piano). These should be the last 2.
April 8th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
To Sue:
read the comment, no where does it say that they had to help him around the stage…they did just an excellent job in making him fit in as we all should do with our fellow man. They did this while concentrating on their own careers. Hats off to them…..
April 8th, 2009 at 11:09 pm
I think the right decision was made. Anoop has continued to improve (though i dont believe he will be in top 3) and Scott, though I liked him in beginning did not….
April 8th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
Lil should have gone, she did the worst job.
April 8th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Yeah, it was a good call.
Scott is a good singer, but he’s not as strong as the others at this stage of the competition. It was an easy and right call.
I was really surprised that Anoop was in the bottom 3 after his performance last night though!
April 8th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
I mostly agree with Irene… Scott has shown no improvement while Anoop continues to take the judges criticism to heart. He stands forth and proclaims to be”doing his thing” but comes out the next week with a total respect for the previous weeks criticism. Scott, on the other hand, “We’re just not that in to you”. We can totally appreciate all of the bad cards you’ve been dealt in your life (and by the way, you were a very cute child), but if I were on my way to or from work and totally wanted to either relax or “rock out” to someones voice who was going to provide the “cool down” or “get the party started” energy I needed I that moment, it wouldn’t be Scott’s voice that accomplished that. I try every week to avoid hearing who is being inroduced “next” and I try to avoid looking at the TV and imagining…does this “voice” cut it for me?? Would it get me through the moment I needed it to get me through???? My answer (without even knowing that it’s Scott, has always been a resounding …. NOT!!! They say that people who don’t see well have a particular gift of sound…but, Scott never seems to hear that he is totally off key.. That’s Ok… I like him, but he’s def. not an American Idol, so I think the right decision to “let him go” has been made. Scott, God speed. For the rest of the Idols, you’re in a really tough fight and you’re going to be forgotten unless you can prove you have what it takes for me to want to listen to you sing… I think I can speak for most when I say, “sing to me and let me feel what you want to convey in the words in you’re singing”. If you can only “scream” or feel the passion because “you love the song”, then don’t bother. Because I probably love that song, too, but if you don’t make me “re-love” it again, then it isn;t worth singing. I always give my votes to the one who has “struck the chord” with me. And I always buy the CD’s of the music I appreciate. For example, I love Daughtry and will support all his efforts while I can’t even believe that America believed for one moment that Taylor Hicks was our “American Idol”… The judges should have definitely been able to “over-rule” that NATURAL DISASTER!! He’s pathetic… Anyways…we have a great pool of talent here for the 2009 American Idol, so let’s show our intelligence and regard for “quality” and vote for our next American Idol…
April 8th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
All I can say is thank the Lord Kellie Pickler is gone. Holy CRAP, that was painful.
April 8th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
Oh C’mon.. Y’all don’t have ears??? Scott sucked from the day 1. Yes, he’s handicapped and good for him for trying his best. However, if you hear his vocal, it’s just not the same level as other contestants. He should have been the one this week.
Lil doesn’t live up to the par. She’s NOT the stereotypical great African American singing Diva. It’s not even the song choice. She cannot nail the notes all the time. She is not good as she is praised by the judges. She sounded good when she auditioned w/o the band. But with the band in the background, it’s very obvious that she can’t hit the note… I just think judges are TOO kind to keep telling her that she has it. SHE DOESNT!!
Anoop, on the other hand, is a great singer, but because of this ethnic background, he will be eliminated at one point. He won’t be as popular as other guys like Adam or Danny..etc.. But when it comes to singing ability, he is really good. He can digest any songs and he does have artistry. Too bad that he won’t survive the popularity contest.
April 8th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Lil only just need to sing the right songs , and then she can go far in this competition. Good Luck to Lil, however my favorite is Danny. I do not like Adam his looks are not becoming of a real man.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:01 am
I don’t hear much mention of Adam here. The performance of the Tears for Fear’s song was one of the best performances I’ve seen on Idol.
Right up there with David Cook’s version of Billy Jean.
I think Scott was at the bottom of the pile as far as his voice is concerned.I feel the same way as many people here about Lil.Every week there is a sub-standard performance and every week so far she stays.Don’t forget that the voters are who determines the losers.
Go Adam!
April 9th, 2009 at 12:08 am
I think Alison is just as copycat as Lil. She did not make that song her own and she destroyed No Doubts “Don’t Speak”! Yuk…. I do a heck of a lot better(and I haven’t had lessons since I was 3 yrs old). Lil is natural talent and they are harder on her than any of the contestants. Scott should have been saved and Anoop should have went home a long time ago.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:11 am
Adam is by far the best one on there. The rest don’t even belong. Finish it now!
April 9th, 2009 at 12:15 am
I wish the judges would just shut up. They had their chance to put through the talent that they wanted and the rest is up to America. When they make their little comments it really affects how the people at home think and pushes good people out before they need to be gone. Like Chris Daultry and Mandesa (dont know if I’m spelling that right), but they should have been the finalist for that season not Taylor Hicks. Anyway… I think it should be changed for the next season, once the judges have done what they need to do, shut up!
April 9th, 2009 at 12:21 am
Ok I just want to comment on the fact that everyone keeps saying that the judges should have sent Anoop or Lil home. Even if they had saved Scott neither of those two would have been sent home, so stop blaming the judges for not sending the right person home. You guys are the ones voting. And also, I don’t think the judges should waste a save on someone they know won’t win the whole thing. Scott doesn’t have a bad voice, but he sure as hell does not have the best voice of the group. And I think that a lot of people are judging him on a different standard because he has a disability. I mean I just don’t think that the fact that he has a disability should be brought up at all. Either you like his voice or you don’t.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:29 am
Lil and Scott are both second rate. Sorry, that’s the plain and simple truth. I really don’t think Obama cares if Lil leaves next week.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:47 am
I think Scott was way in over his head and it’s good that he’s gone.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:53 am
so sorry to see scott go, he was great. i rooted for you scott since the beginning, and i believe that lil should have been the one to go, not you.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:57 am
There are no words to describe how good Adam is. Paula said it when she compared him to Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler. Lil has been singing flat every week. I keep attrbuting it to nerves, but a big voice is useless if you can’t sing on key. Anoop has a very pretty voice and had a great performance this week. I was shocked to find him in the bottom 3. He has been inconsistent and that could be the reason. I don’t want to put any stock in the ethnic argument, I pray we are past that. Adam’s talent moves me and I will be first in line to get his albumn.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:03 am
please people i am so sick and tired of all the talk that lil rounds is the best, let me tell you african americans something lil rounds is not even in the same league as danny or adam.
while im on the subject you black people keep saying opbama is supporting lil from behind the screen and all this bull—- you guys can cut out all the racist crap where sick of hearing it you have a man in the highest office that there is so please quit playing the racist card and know this danny and adam is going to kick her black ass…….
April 9th, 2009 at 1:20 am
I don’t like Lil much, I think she is overpraised for her singing - I often hear a pitch thing going on - she doesn’t bring anything new or special to the competition.
I do think Anook is exceedingly likeable - with some beautiful tones in his voice.
I think Adam Lambert is miles ahead - miles - of them all. I love to watch him move, I love his face, and I absolutely am almost addicted to his voice and the songs he is singing.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:25 am
good luck scott.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:44 am
Hey bobby? You’re an idiot.
And yes it was time for Scott to say buh-bye, sweety though he is. Adam you have a great voice, just stop with the screaming already, I always have to have asprin handy after your performances! Go Danny!!
April 9th, 2009 at 2:16 am
uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh………for me, Lil and Scott deserved to go home(not really a big fan!)but WHAAT! Anoop in bottom 3? what the heck! he shouldn’t be there! he sang his soul for it! what the!?.. GO ADAM & DANNY!! Je t’adore!!
April 9th, 2009 at 2:26 am
Anoop has got to go!
April 9th, 2009 at 2:53 am
Anoop is simply disastrous!! Period!! Yes for those of you out there who are pathetic, Lil Rounds needs to keep being reminded that she is a BRILLIANT singer and just needs that one song to prove herself. Face it- the girl can sing and has vocals. Much better than that Danny crap
April 9th, 2009 at 3:40 am
i had to read 54 comments before write my own
Finally the show is not surprising anymore, did anyone really surprised because of Scott gone home tonight? I don’t think so, I surprised first 3 weeks that Megan wasn’t at the bottom 3. Last week and this week no surprises. Scott is a talented guy on the instruments but not as vocal.
Some AI donkeys on here thinking that Obama is behind Lil!! Get over it people, this competition has nothing to do with being African American, remember there is a couple of African American people won this competition before. Did you forget that already?
Anoop, I like that guy but here is the thing. If you are listening him on the radio, not seeing him, he is great, but watching him on a national TV and looking at him, hmmm…I don’t know here is the judgment, is this voice really coming out from this guy
This is where he is loosing the votes i guess.
Again because of show is not surprising anymore here is the next week bottom 3, Anoop, Lil and Matt.
Also, I agree with judges that not to saving Scott, Simon made the point there is more talented people that deserved to use that saving, not Scott, that was a good decision.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:16 am
i thing Lil is in the Spotligth tonigth,
cause she almost did the same version of Tina, and i dont here the magic Voice of Lil that nigth… sorry for Lil but your going Home….
April 9th, 2009 at 6:09 am
Can any of you honestly say that you think Scott is a talented singer…Or is your heart pulling some wool over your brain and most of all, your ears? Yeah he can play piano. Sure he can play guitar. He is a likeable guy from what they show on t.v. and FOR SURE, he does have an inspirational story. But American Idol is a SINGING COMPETITION. Not a who can tug at your heart strings the most competition. So enough of the sympathy voting and/or being somebody’s fan because you feel sorry for them!! I wish him the best of luck in life and admire him for his courage, but the sound of his signing makes me cringe. I mean come on - look at the other people with super unfortunate disabilities that TRULY have talent - Stevie Wonder. Ray Charles. (Oh and what about “Slash”, the one-armed DRUMMER from Guns N Roses?!) Stevie & Ray - they are just awesome. Both blind, both play piano and write songs, and both are AMAZING singers…their voices have unbelieveable range, distinct sound and are clear and above all, NATURAL and IN TUNE - not forced or craked at ALL. Scott is 2 outta 3 here - I honest to goodness think he could go places as a MUSICIAN and/or song writer -MAYBE a BACKUP singer in a band - but he does NOT have the vocals to carry himself as a solo artist. Bravo to Scott for following his dream and not letting legal blindness stop him from conquering his ambitions and goals in life. Very brave, admirable and inspirational. But his strong will, character and talent with musical instruments do not camoflauge the fact that the boy CAN’T sing.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:10 am
Only wished we could cast our votes from Australia as we would have voted for Scott. He sings from his heart and he is gifted. Every time he sings ad plays the piano, I think of all the talented musical artists with similar disabilities who weren’t perfect in the beginning but were given the chance to prove themselves and fulfilled their dreams. I believe that the judges could have saved him because we can see that he has a lot to offer than the other contestants. It’s about time that American Idol judges should use their better judgements and not just favour the constestants they happen to like but with less talents. SCOTT… one day you will make it, keep up with your dream because we believe in you! Take care mate, and you should be proud of your achievements. This is just the beginning…. you’ll see! God Bless you always….
April 9th, 2009 at 7:39 am
i think the people got it right (almost) im glad scott is gone he should have left long ago and as far as anoop goes i think he is a good singer!!! Im surprised that cris was’nt in the bottom three he was just terrible and as far as Lil goes if she does’nt get it right on the next show she should be the next one to go home as the judges have said you have to artistry an she just has’nt proven herself that way,I really think allison has a got shoot of being in the top three i like her alot!!!!
April 9th, 2009 at 8:31 am
I think the judges are really saving their votes later when the deserving Idol needs their votes to override the fans’ votes for popularity and not singing talent. I love Scott, in fact I was crying the whole time he was singing. There’s no doubt he could sing but the judges were correct in not saving him last night. There are still 7 Idols competing. Scott will be famous no matter what because of his exposure in AI. I was so impressed with the groups’ performance and how they were able to guide Scott while they perform. I witnessed the caring with each other and it seem like they became a family having fun together. I was also very impressed with Paula. She said an excellent farewell speech to Scott. Scott is a winner and is very talented. He is an excellent ROLE MODEL to all of us. Lots of Luck Scott. I will definitely buy your CD’s.You are very classy, educated, and a true gentleman.I thank American Idol for giving him this opportunity. Millions had audition every year and to reach the Top 8 is an amazing accomplishment.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:28 am
Scott is a great guy and a true inspiration. But he made a bad song choice and chose the wrong medium(guitar instead of keyboard). That’s enough to get you voted off at this stage. “nuff said”
April 9th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Wow!!! Hello all…
First and foremost psychologically speaking we all know why Scott’s fans are/were Scott’s fans, most people root for the underdog. But the fact is, Scott isn’t teen pop material. Personally I think he will become a extremely successful song writer but he doesn’t have the vocal chops so-to-speak to hang in this competition. And as much as they say ‘Lil has an identity crisis or Anup has to find his sound, fact is they don’t really want that at all. They want a robot to tweak, change, and be their puppet.
And let’s be honest with ourselves, they all are nationally known at least and I highly doubt his talents will go unnoticed along with future eliminated idols.
Also, what everyone has to realize is there are groups of supporters for EVERY contestant and I think it’s as much about chance as voting. think about it for all the voters they say call in and have their votes counted, there are probably the same if not more that couldn’t get through or just didn’t vote this week, so what does this mean? It means that when you have that large of a number dialing into the same lines within a constrained period of time you may have varied results depending on who happens to call in first or wait on hold longer, THAT’S IT folks… so yes your vote matters but unfortunately you might not get a chance to matter next week.
So will everyone quit their whining and realize that it doesn’t matter who wins after the top 10 because all of them get recognized and many go on to be as successful if not more successful than the winning idol.
I know I’m long winded but I feel this was all necessary!
Thank you
April 9th, 2009 at 11:21 am
I think that Scott should have went home this week and next week it should be Anoop. I also think it’s clear who the winner will be. HMMM Adam!
April 9th, 2009 at 11:38 am
Scott - you are a HUGE inspiration. You are someone who should inspire the youth of today, also. Please do not let this small road block get in your way of a musical future. Just keep plugging, and have a BLAST on tour.
April 9th, 2009 at 11:56 am
Lil is definitely the least talented of the remaining contestants
April 9th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Scott basically left because of one note. It was really bad when he tried to go for that high note - it is just not the kind of song he should have picked. But he went for it because the judges told him to try something else than the piano.
Can’t remember the year he sang about, but in the 80s, he could have picked an Elton John song for example.
Having said that, I think the results were rigged. Probably the person with the least number of votes was Lil, but producers did not want the Top 7 to have only one woman.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
i think anoop should have gone off or the judges save scott. i dont say that because scott is blind but he has pashion and believes in him self. he is also a GREAT singer.lil was okay but deserves to leave because she is always in the bottam 3. scott or friends if u are reading this i still LOVE u and hope the tour is great
April 9th, 2009 at 12:29 pm
I think it was the right choice NOT to save Scott. Never in a million years could Scott ever come close to abilities of other singers with the same disability (Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles). He was a dull singer. I’m glad he’s gone.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
I am so disappointed to see Scott go. His talents musically far exceeded some others that the judges “swooned” over ie. Ruben Stoddard, Taylor Hicks for example who are big flops. The sincerity and depth in his vocals are marketable and people like him. They do not like Allison. Listening to her sing is difficult for me, one trick pony, hard and loud for everything. Chris is no star, Anoop is a nice guy but should have already gone. Bless her heart “lil” is very talented but I think she is hard headed..does not listen to advice at all. Matt needs to go back to what he does best..he can succeed with that funky blues but not with what he has been singing lately. Adam is tremendous talent and showman. Predict he will end up on Broadway soon. Music theater is for him. Danny Gokey also big talent and wide range. Think the final three will be Danny, Adam and that Allison (they are holding the “save” for her I believe) Again, wish they had saved Scott, but he’ll be fine..
April 9th, 2009 at 1:09 pm
This could be the best top 8, ever. Someone has to go every week. Any of them would take being in the top 10 from day one. The save is only for about three people. Adam, Danny and Allison. Maybe Chris. Besides, that the rest will ultimately go. All of this is a great experience for all of them. Going now is not a bad thing. Imagine if a significant part of the viewers used TIVO or DVR’s just to miss the commercials and had missed Adam with the show going over and he didn’t get their votes. That is what the save is for. The judges would not have saved any of the bottom three.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
I think the wrong person went home…. Should the judges have saved Scott? I think they made the right descion by not using the save. Scott you are great but I don’t think you would of won. I am wondering if and when america finally votes Lil off if the judges will make teh mistake of saving her? She has done nothing original, The judges tell her week after week she is a singer not an atrist. Will she ever become an artist I doubt it . So america please get it right next week and vote her off it’s time for her to go home. ( or will simon yous his bully tactics to save her?)
April 9th, 2009 at 1:29 pm
I just want everyone to know that it’s okay to not vote for the “blind guy.” Scott has been getting sympathy votes from the beginning. Yes, his story is amazing. But at some point, it becomes about talent. You have got to be kidding if you think that he is more talented than any of the remaining 7. I don’t care how much Lil dissappoints. Scott would not make a record that anyone would buy based on talent. However, he would based on representation of the disabled community or symbol of perserverence. All of the judges agreed, but they didn’t want to be known for sending the “blind guy” home. It was time. Thanks Simon!
April 9th, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I am very disapointed that they sent Scott home, I think he deserved a second chance. I think Anoop is going home next week.
April 9th, 2009 at 2:29 pm
Simon is not there to win a popularity contest. He made the right decision. If the public makes a mistake now based on one poor performance, there is a safety net. I have not seen the kind of star quality which Adam displays since (yes I dare to compare) Elvis Presley.
April 9th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Holy crap … how did Miss Pickler get this far in the industry? She just cannot sing! It was embarassing to say the least. On the other hand, I’m extremely proud of Scott. A great young man.
April 9th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
To be honest I think Lil should have left. I don’t think she is that great a singer. But Scott wasn’t that good either, so they did make a good choice. I think he has gotten by because of his handicap. I also think that if Lil had been the one to sing for her life, they would have used their save.
I don’t know what is happening this season, but it sure seems people are voting wrong.
April 9th, 2009 at 4:54 pm
At least for the past two weeks we have not seen much childish play from a couple judges. Maybe they got the message. Still bothers me that the women can’t make a decision and it falls on Simons shoulders. It’s a group effort for crying out loud. Do your jobs……..Sorry for Scott. I liked his songs the past 3 weeks and I felt he was getting better. I didn’t think he was the best over all and knew it was a matter of weeks. Kris is the one who is really impressing me. He has really grown and gotten better or he’s just better than the rest at picking songs. Sorry Lil, you haven’t improved from the start. Danny is playing safe and Adam screams everything he sings.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
DNS - I agree with you. Thanks from me to Simon, too!
April 9th, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Jesus will people stop over-sizing Scott ? He can sing but he’s not THAT good, comon he only made it that far because of people’s sympathy with his handicap and if it was any other contestant will no handicap having same vocal abilities as Scott he wouldn’t even make it to the top 10, yes the man is blind but so are thousands others in this country does that mean we should let them sing and win American idol just to show respect ? hell now, this is American Idol a real TV singing competition not a charity if he was good enough to compete i wouldn’t say this but his performances were always poor, like walking on a thin ice u never know when he’s gonna slip on a note and go way out of pitch which he did in his last performance and that was a great motive to disqualify him.
Lil’s excuses are getting old (just like Megan’s) “Next time im gonna perform better” yet nothing changes in her performances, to win American idol u need to have full marketing package now ask yourself who has that.
FUCKING ADAM ruined this year’s season for me its easy to tell he’s gonna win this season and i hope he does, it has nothing to do with him being a pro before joining american idol he is really good and deserves to win.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:38 pm
Everyone has said that L’l just needs to sing the right song. Judgets have been pointing that out since day one for her. However, please let’s all sit back and think for a moment: She has the voice but it doesn’t mean she CAN sing. Randy Jackson used to say to David Archuleta, “If you can sing, you can sing anything.” That’s it. Listen to her rendition of Tina Turner’s song the other night, she sang off tune in many places. Come on, a good singer should not sing out of tune. Danny doesn’t always pick the right song but he has somehow managed to pull it off week after week. L’l should have gone home, instead of Scott. They both didn’t perform well (Scott does not have the rock ballad vocal.) However, compared the two of them, L’l was worse. I don’t understand how America is so tone deaf.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
Megan, Jasmine, Scott, and Sarver took up other good candidates’ spots. Remember Ricky Brady, Felicia Barton, and Jesse Langseth???
April 9th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Adam is the winner and has been from day one. Danny is second and darn good. Lil should have been gone three weeks ago, but a certain BLOCK of fans are voting for her because of race. Again, Adam is the winner, give im the throphy and let’s move to next season…without Karla as a judge. She is the worse I have ever seen. She must have pictures of the AI producer and a goat.
April 9th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
I sat here and read all the posting, I agree with some and disappointed with some….
Why is it that every season of AI the race card, the sympathy card and the popularity card are played instead of the “talent” card which this competition is about?
I was disappointed that someone had to put the current president in with one of the contestant. And I was ashame and disappointed by one of the comments made about it.
To the competition:
Allison, has an unique voice but is kindda of forgetable.
Adam, is weird, but has been winning me over eversince his rendition of tracks of my tears.
Danny, is playing it safe week after week and need to create some kind of WOW factor.
Matt, reminds me of JT and I am still trying to figure him out.
Anoop, has to be one of the most improved, he can sing but he is not consistent in winning the audience over
Kris, most of his performances are very forgetable
Scott, it was time for him to go, he was not that talented, he is more of a songwriter not a singer
Last but not least, although I have been rooting for Lil, I am getting tired of her excuses week after week and waiting for her to WOW me
April 9th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
can anyone tell me the week of april 7 and 8 who that guest star was besides kelli pickler he was talking to ryan about rootz or something like that didnt catch the whole thing can anyone plz help thank you
April 9th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Phyllis said:
“I love Daughtry and will support all his efforts while I can’t even believe that America believed for one moment that Taylor Hicks was our “American Idol”… The judges should have definitely been able to “over-rule” that NATURAL DISASTER!! He’s pathetic.”
oh Phyllis bitter much? And for your information based on the new rules the judges would not have been able to save Chris because he was kicked off 4th.
But lets pretend that they could have saved Chris, It wouldn’t have meant that Taylor would have gone home. Taylor was never in the bottom three or bottom two. If I remember correctly Kat would have gone home.
Now had that happened…it would have been the most talented top 3 in all seasons of AI.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
@Keri Ann: The performer was “Flo Rida”
April 9th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
scott was ok and just ok. anoop is the one who must go home…..for sure..!!
April 9th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
Love Anoop…..Love Kris………… Love Adam Hope they are our top 3..People if you want your favorite to win. VOTE
April 10th, 2009 at 8:33 am
I think Scott was definitely robbed. First they allowed Simon to decide his fate and we all know he’s a Adam fan!! I think this save someone is wrong, it should have remained that the votes only counted. I know Scott will go far he is great with the piano and I enjoyed Scott very much! I don’t care for Anoop and yes, Lil has to go too! It’s going to end up Adam vs. Danny in the finale, wait and see!!
April 10th, 2009 at 9:42 am
It would have been pointless to save Scott over Anoop.
Scott always seems to a little off key and seems like he really has to force the notes out. It seems a bit awkward.
Anoop has a nice voice, but that’s it.
I don’t think anyone can envision Anoop filling Giants Stadium or Madison Square Garden for a Concert. Nor Scott Macintyre. And for me………Nor Matt. Kris is likeable enough, perhaps for the girls.
Danny perhaps. He seems to be off key often times to me also.
Allison, I can see filling an arena. Especially because of her young age. However, compare her to 16 year old SINGING SENSATION FROM THE PHILLIPINES……..CHARICE PEMPENGCO !! CHARICE WOULD MAKE ALLISON LOOK LIKE A BEGINNER. She is one of those PHENOMENONS in this world that come along only every so often. So, in that regard, I am not that impressed with Allison.
We all know Scott wasn’t going anywhere in this competition.
I think you also know that Anoop is not going anywhere in this competition.
So, what would the save do?
Save him for one more week? Then Anoop gets voted off. Then Scott gets voted off and then finally Lil Rounds gets voted off.
The save would have been totally pointless.
That one and only save may be needed when it comes down to the wire……….Like Danny vs Allison. Or Kris vs Matt. Or any combination of those 4. Even Adam could be part of that equation, but I wouldn’t be able to figure out why? He is the best and I can’t see him getting voted off in need of a save.
I think it’s a given that ADAM LAMBERT is the only one who should win at this point and will win. But, you never know.
Nevertheless, what if ADAM got voted off before the last week, wouldn’t the one and only save be much more necessary then, than a save between Scott and Anoop that could have taken place this past week?
I think that after careful thought, many will agree with me.

I look forward every week to seeing Adam. He is the first American Idol contestant that I can say that I can’t wait till I can buy his CDs. I kind of feel sorry for the other constestants with having Adam on this season. They hardly stand any kind of a chance next to him. He is in a whole other league from everyone else. Danny is a far second.
April 10th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
I do think we should give Anoop a chance. He has to however improve his stage presence. What’s with the green sweater he was wearing…did’nt make any sense at all…
April 10th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
I really don’t think ANOOP is a SuperStar. He has a nice voice. I know many or have seen many many local places where a singer has a nice voice.
But, please he’s no AMERICAN IDOL.
Is he anything close to a Kelly Clarkson?
Carrie Underwood?
Leona Lewis, who won the XFACTOR in 2006?
Not even close! Why is he even in there? Especially when Alexis Grace was voted off.
Giving him a chance? He’s not a superstar by any standards. I’m sure you yourself have seen and heard many better singers at some local venue.
Scott Macintyre……….Not a SuperStar either.
My point is that ANOOP has absolutely NO Chance of being the IDOL winner. Neither didi Scott. So, why waste the one and only Save when either one of them will be gone in a few weeks.
LiL Rounds may even go before ANOOP. They both have to go, but only one at a time. Flip a coin. It doesn’t matter. Perhaps to their own careers if they pursue it.
The only 2 huge performers are ADAM and ALLISON.
ADAM is far better. So that leaves Danny Kris and Matt.
Danny a more powerful voice, but always seems off key to me.
Kris a nice voice who can wow the girls. Matt, I don’t think he’ll go much further than 4th or 5th. Then Danny or Kris for 3rd and 4th
Allison 2nd
ADAM LAMBERT WINNER
He has a special quality that separates his voice from all the rest. Allison too.
Do you really remember ANOOPS voice. If you heard it on the radio tomorrow doing a song you never heard of, would you say………EWWWWWWW That’s ANOOP D’Sai? I don’t think so.
OR Kris Allen? Or Danny Gokey?
I don’t thnk so.
Allison, you may very well recognize. ADAM especially after his brilliant rendition of “Mad World”
Josh Groban didn’t have very much STAGE PRESENCE earlier on but he was Brilliant. His magical voice did it.
ANOOP is not a Great great singer. What would stage presence do for him? He wouldn’t win with that either.
Personally, I don’t think he belongs there.
April 11th, 2009 at 8:14 am
IM SOO GLAD HE’S GONE ANOOP IS SOOO GOOD MAN
April 11th, 2009 at 8:15 am
ANOOP DOGG TO WIN
April 11th, 2009 at 11:13 am
I really felt bad that Scott was chosen to leave. In spite of his handicap, he has worked so hard, harder than most, and has an excellent voice. I give Paula credit for her comments to him at the end of the show. “Scott, we love you”, and I personally wish him huge sucess in the music industry.
April 11th, 2009 at 11:47 am
How can anyone really believe that ANOOP is in the category of a Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, or XFACTOR’S Leona Lewis and really think that he should be an American Idol WINNER.
Are you out of your mind.
I’m sure he’s a really nice guy and deserves the best in life just like anybody else, but be real.
He is not in the superstar class by any stretch of the imagination. Nor was Scott Macintyre. Nor Lil Rounds.
The only 2 in this competition are ADAM and ALLISON.
Can you really say that if ANOOP just had a song that you never heard……..on the radio right now, that you would recognize his voice? I really don’t think so.
ADAM’s yes for sure.
Probably Allison as well.
April 11th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
I am sorry we cant vote here in Australia either, but I think it was right for Scott or Lil to go, Anoop has a better voice than both of them, I think we can already work out who will win Adam, I think he has a really good voice and can be versatile with his music, but I like it better when its a closer competition. I watch it anyway
April 11th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
I agree with you on your post. It was the right time for Scott or Lil to go. Also, Anoop. Yes, he does have a nice voice, but I don’t see it as an American Idol winner at all.
Even, without ADAM LAMBERT
(Who, if I heard had an album coming out tomorrow, I would already go out an buy it !! He’s that good.)
Anoop wouldn’t win. He’s not what people are looking for. He’s just a singer with a nice voice. There are literally 1000’s of people like that. You probably known some yourself, who can sing as well as Anoop.
An Idol Winner needs the certain something EXTRA that puts them above all the others.
Allison is probably the 2nd place winner.
I think it will be a toss up for 3 thru 5.
Danny, Kris and Matt. Probably Kris for 3rd. He has a smoother voice than Danny. Danny takes 4th. He just seems like he needs to try an belt it out……And seems off key a lot. Matt……….too boring for me.
Next week Anoop goes home.
Then LIL.
However, I did say to people a few weeks ago that LiL may go home sooner than many believe. So, she may go home next week. If so, than Anoop will be next after her.
April 11th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Scott has a beautiful voice & sang with such emotion. I thought he should have been given another chance as he did what one of the judges told him to do and it was wrong.
Scott good luck in the future and don’t give up I think you will make it in the music industry.
I too wish the judges would just give their thoughts on the performances then shut up.
How can they tell Lil she is so wonderful when she has no originality, sings off key so much, picks wrong songs constantly, and screams the words so often.
Lil should go next week. Allison, Adam and Danny stand out. Anoop has a better voice than Lil. Anoop should work on his stage presence.
April 11th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Scott should stay, he is very tallented and sweet, Anoop he is a gooner, thou he is good but not as tallented a Scott. If I was in America I would have voted Anoop off the show.
April 12th, 2009 at 5:42 am
Ok, Here’s the deal people,Adam lambert to win,
Danny second,Mat Giraud or Anoop Desai third…thats it…..Anoop is a good Singer…but unfortunately his ethnic background comes in his way….Danny…he is a good guy, but somehow he sounds the same to me every week….
April 12th, 2009 at 9:37 am
How can anyone possibly think that Anoop will place ahead of Allison??
Anoop 3rd????????????
Perhaps I am missing something!
He’s continually in the bottom 3.
He was already voted out of the competition until the Wild card brought him back.
1 ADAM
2 ALLISON
3 DANNY OR KRIS
4 KRIS OR DANNY
5 MATT
6 LIL OR ANOOP
7 ANOOP OR LIL
I think you have it the other way around.
I could be wrong. I have no predjudice and just think the best talent should win.
I absolutely adore the new 16 year old PHENOMENON from the Phillipines………..CHARICE PEMPENGCO
AND also Journey’s new front man ARNEL PINEDA, also from the Phillipines.
Both incredible talents !!
I think Anoop’s ethnic background is what may have been keeping him in as long as he has been. I think he’s getting some special treatment.
I thought Scott Macintyre got some special treatment as well.
I don’t hold ethnic backgrounds against anyone.
But, Anoop for 3rd seems to be stretching it.
It’s time for he and LIL to move on.
April 12th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
Well I sit back and read all these comments about Lil Rounds. If she gets voted off could be the best thing for her. Just a reminder of Jennifer Hudson prove point that you don’t need American Idol to get a career in the business. Personally I think Adam will take it. Lil keep it up girl
April 12th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
There’s no way Matt is boring. His performances are always different. Has such a smooth voice and inticing. Either he’s playing the piano while singing or singing alone. Danny justs sings. Matt stage performance is MUCH better.
April 12th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
you don’t have to win this contest to have a career — this is just one stone in a lot of people’s careers — after all — where is ruben studdard? jordin sparks hasn’t done much — taylor hicks??? anyone remember him? it is a contest and one of many things they will all be doing along the way — chris daughtry didn’t need to win — neither did jennifer and there are a few of the previous idols who are working in musical theatre and on television — depends on what you want out of your career — if you are looking to just be a STAR, well then, you might be disappointed — they have to put into their careers what they want from it - and keep going - -if you don’t believe in yourself then no one else will - i think adam will take it yes - -he is truly an amazing talent and his star is just on the rise — but that doesn’t mean the rest of them will not do well somewhere out there — if you are a working performer, you have already made it — being a star or winning a contest does not necessarily make you happy — you get out of life what you put into it –
April 12th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
i do agree — kellie pickler was just awful!! — completely out of tune and tragically terrible — what did ryan call her? a country superstar? holy out of your mind seacrest — or whomever wrote that for you, and kara is a major pain in the ass — she is trying way too hard to be the tough chick on the panel and falling flatly on her face — she is very annoying and not particularly a great judge from what i can see –
April 13th, 2009 at 11:04 am
Scott has been my favorite since the begining. Scott, you have the talent, versatility & spirit to go on to a great career. You’re also a songwriter & I’m sure a good one. I will miss you tremendously but, know many great achievements await you in the future.
April 13th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Anoop or Matt should have gone BEFORE Scott. He is way too talented to have gone this early. there are definitely a LOT of talent this year, but Scott may NOT have been the best vocally, but combined with his handicap and piano, he should have stayed.
April 14th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
SCOTT SHOULD HAVE STAYED. HE IS BY FAR A MUCH BETTER ENTAINER THAN THAT LIL AND ANOOP. AND ALLISON, OH GOD SHE IS AWFUL. GO ADAM AND KRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
SORRY SPELLED ENTERTAINER WRONG
April 15th, 2009 at 2:10 am
to sergio’s comment- “African American people won this competition before. Did you forget that already?” those two i believe were : Reuben studdard and Fantasia…. just look @ how they turned out! i mean r u kidding me? it was Jennifer hudson that did really well and gave justice 2 the African American people. BUT REALLY LIL IS NOT UP TO PAR YET and cause they’ve come this far she shld have stepped it up. It’s obvious that being the only African American, it’s the many others(fellow African Americans) who seem 2 be supporting and constantly voting 4 her and not forgetting her possibly huge family and frens
April 15th, 2009 at 2:34 am
Kris picks songs 2 suit his guitar and his vocals well. And there are times when u can hear that he has improved. BUT….it’s so obvious he might even beat Allison(not that i want this 2 happen), simply cause of his boyish charm that works wonders on the many teenage gals voting 4 him!
April 15th, 2009 at 2:36 am
Lil and Matt(though i like him @ times), r quite ‘copycatish’ with the former sounding like a gospel singer and the latter JT and Robin Thicke!
April 15th, 2009 at 6:27 am
How can one eliminate Scott?
He has never been in the bottom 3, only once or twice… and has been eliminated in one go?
He has been such an inspiration to others
Lil, on the other hand, has been told at least 10 times her song choice is not right. Why are you saving her and not Scott?
Desai, even though I too am from his background, has been in the bottom 3 at least 5 times.. why not him.
Instead of eliminating the worst, you three judges and audience votes eliminated the best out of the top 3.
And you should have shame on yourselves that you didnt even save him.
Is this what they call fair judges these days?
April 18th, 2009 at 11:50 am
Scott you are simply the best !!
I’m sorry you got eliminated, because you didn’t deserve it.
I wanted Anoop to go home rather then Scott !
April 19th, 2009 at 4:02 am
The save is now a thing of the past.
What is the point?
Matt got saved. He won’t be in it much longer. Two contestants will be going home this coming Wednesday instead of one.
One of them may very well be Matt again anyway. But, if not him, it will be LIL and Anoop.
Any two of those 3 should be going home next week.
Which ever one of those 3 doesn’t go home next week will be gone the following week, leaving ADAM, ALLISON, KRIS and DANNY. That’s probably the order of the placing too. ADAM should take it all and rightly so. Probably ALLISON for 2nd but you never know. She does have her ups and downs. Kris has been doing pretty well lately. Danny seems to be the same all of the time. Songs start out OK…….then somewhere in the middle, he just loses me and I wish the song would just end……then he picks it up again and tries to belt it out for the finish. When he sings softly he always seems off key. Not my favorite, but seems like a nice guy with a sad story.
ADAM……………………………………….
ALLISON………Kris could slip by AllISON though.
KRIS…………ALLISON could end up in this slot
but, probably not.
DANNY………………………………………
ANOOP………..I never considered him to be worthy
of being a AM IDOL contender. There
was so much talk about all of the
extraordinary talent this year, but
LIL turned out to be a major dis-
appointment. Matt turned out to be
big disappointment as well. Usually
I can’t wait for his songs to end.
Anoop has a nice voice, but that’s
about it. It just turns out that he
has a better voice than MATT..and
LIL is all over the place. Even
though Anoop has a decent voice, I don’t
see any star quality in him at all.
Just a boring singer. If he ever
won this competition, he would never
be able to sell out an arena. Who
would go to see him??
MATT too !! Who, in God’s name
go to see him? Only small amounts
fans and then he would die out
fast.
Then, there is Danny and Kris. I
don’t believe they really have that ability to fill arenas either.
They are not in the category of a
Kelly Clarkson, or a Carrie Underwood or American Idols equivalent….Xfactor’s 2006 winner the out-standing Leona Lewis.
ALLISON could do that.
ADAM of course.
He could probably sell out an arena today. I would go out and buy an album of his today, if he had one out.

Cant believe Anoop still here. He cant even sing well for the closing show. What a waste! Thought he was eleminate last week. I keep my finger cross. But judging by yesterday performances, the bottom three will be Lil, Anoop & idk (I dont care). Boy oh boy… 2 will be out!!!
