April 22nd, 2009 American Idol, Results, Season 8,Tonight on American Idol, the double elimination results for this season’s Top 7 will be revealed…
So far the American Idol Top 7.1 Prediction Poll shows that an overwhelming majority of you think Lil Rounds should be sent home with the next closest being Anoop Desai and Matt Giraud right behind him. I think things have aligned for Lil to finally exit, but who will go with her?
Remember, there is no chance of a Judges’ Save again this week since it was used for Giraud already.

- Lil Rounds - Lil is the first eliminated
- Anoop Desai - Anoop is the second elimination
- Allison Iraheta - Allison has survived the night
Wow! Ryan just announced, right away that Lil Rounds has been eliminated! Another ‘wow’ moment when Seacrest announced that Allison, not Matt, was in this week’s Bottom 3!

Judges made the mistake of saving Matt. He was terrible last night, comical. Basically they saved him when he was voted off–he returns to display his worst performance to date on Disco night–and then he is safe?? Huh?? Sounds like judge pimping/producer finagaling. At least over-rated Allison (the judges’ favorite pimp subject) was in the bottom 3 AGAIN–for the 3rd time, and deservedly so. The judge’s “save” needs to be revoked. What a stupid, self serving tool to let the judges skew the results.

Anoop doesn’t lack talent at all. Hes not my favourite but he does have a great deal of talent. I’m glad Allison is safe coz shes the bomb. Adam will win of course but Allison has to make it to the final too… shes the only other contender. She outclasses Danny, Matt and Kris on natural talent.

I think that the judges were way too confusing for Lil - they kept telling her to be Mary J Blige and then telling her that she didn’t know who she was!!
I also thought that Adam’s performance last night was the WORST EVER!!

So glad MATT was safe tonight AGAIN. Definitely better than Lil and Anoop. Someone said comical, no way. His singing solid for disco, and his dancing didn’t miss a beat. Not at all surprised it was Allison, it is her 3rd time in the bottom 3. So let’s just keep on voting for our favorites. I vote Matt always, always!!! Keep on going Matt G.

i totally dis agree that adam’s performance was the worst ever. in fact, he is the only one whome the judges didnt say any bad thing. the song he also sang was not a very popular one but he managed to bring the beauty of the song to us viewers.
adam is always cool and relaxed when singing soul music. i cant wait to see his recorded album.
Adam Lambert is GOD….. a raw talent that brings the beauty of music to everyone.

Just look at his You Tube video re his audition with American Idol, it already reached more than 1m hits. His you Tube videos are the most watched now. Maybe with this breakthrough, adam lambert will become a recording artist who can sell albums.

I am surprised to see Allison in the bottom 3,
although my husband didn’t because he doesn’t think Allison is a good singer and competitive( accdg. to him). OMG! to me, she is adorable at her age, 16. In fairness to women genre, we should find a woman in the top 3. I feel, it is between Danny and Adam anyway who will emerge as American Idol,season 8. I admit, allison choice of song and her vocals last night was the worst she did. If she is not careful next tuesday, she will be outwitted by either matt or kris ….careful ALLISON.

I really like Anoop, and was very disappointed by the bad music arrangements he got throughout the season. It became quite obvious the producers were against him when his music was played too quitely last night. At the tempo change the music should have been bigger and louder and it appeared he expected it to be. It would have been for Adam. This was sabotage. They’re obviously biased.

Lil had a great audition and really has a beautiful voice, but she just didn’t seem to ever get it quite right to me. Personally I loved Anoop’s voice. I don’t think he could have won AI, but I think Matt should have gone home. He was voted off last week for a reason.
And Allison, hello? Her voice is AMAZING.
Adam is my pick for the win though.

okay if racism isnt then SIMON has a big say on the show….obviously they can’t stand that fact that an Indian guy made it this far….given that he isnt that great on stage, but you have to admit he has great vocals, very soulful voice….they just want to justify the save they made on Matt, and they had to sacrifice one..unfortunately it was Anoop!!!! its not based on votes, its all about the Producers’ and Simon’s call on who should stay and go!

Glad to see Lil and Anoop go…….Allison should not have been in the bottom 3, however at this stage in the game, someone will always have the lowest numbers. From now on, I would think the remaining “idols’ will all have recording contracts. IF David A. can perform, so can the remaining 5. How tall is Adam??? He towers over everyone!!!

matt doesnt deserve to be on the top 5. im not Anoop’s fan, but i am saddened by the results tonight. i HATE the SAVE option… Matt was voted out because America OBVIOUSLY doesnt like him, even before the show was starting… he was just a wild card remember? I think, Anoop deserves to be on the top 5 than Matt.

do you know why i say this? because Anoop has less exposure on the show…on ford videos, on group performances…on idol extras…and for the last time, they didnt even say any comments when he was voted off…I know Anoop isnt that great on stage, but hey he has a great vocals and very soulful voice…good thing though, we’ll get so see him on Tour and thats what all matters now!

I totally agree. Anoop wasn’t given the same chance as the others. The judges don’t make bad comments about Adam when he sings off key or over acts. The look on Adam’s face when he was singing made me laugh and I was actually embarassed for him. Give me a break. He needs to go back to musicals like Wicked or others he’s been in. He’s been a paid professional for years and should be disqualified.

I really do like Adam, and I honestly think that his sexuality does not matter. He’s a great performer, and he’s only having fun. The fact that he had played in Wicked shouldn’t matter because that was for acting, and not really his singing. He wouldn’t have even been accepted if that were the case. He’s a great artist and just does things his own way.
There are a lot of you saying that Matt should have gone tonight instead of Anoop. Matt WAS the wild card last week, and if he had gone then, Anoop probably would have still gone tonight. I have nothing against him…I just like Adam a lot more than him. I mean, when Anoop sang “Beat It” by Michael Jackson, I was like “Seriously? That was horrible.” And when Adam sang “Black or White” it was amazing. Not better than MJ, but it was still AMAZING.

Dev - I know from the very start that ANOOP isn’t going to win the competition…BUT we were hoping that he’ll make the top 5…using the save on Matt is just a show because they really wanted ANOOP out of the game…but you have to admit though ADAM sometimes is just screamming or shouting, he already has a great vocals but it tends to be awful it comes out like he’s screaming…and I do agree with you about Anoop’s performance on MJ week, I am an ANOOP fan but didnt like his rendition of BEAT IT…the brighter side of it though, we can still get to see him on tour….and by the way everyone knows the judges has already decide on who is the winner…OBVIOUSLY IT’S ADAM…

Why is it that when someones choice(Anoop) is stepped on, it’s racist? I too am sorry that he left and I did my job and voted a lot to keep him. It’s just getting down to the wire now and someone has to go. Adam is not my choice for a winner but I have to give him credit for the talent he has. Kris is the one you need to watch. He has stepped up to the plate and will give Danny and Adam a run for the title. As for Allison, she will go in two weeks. Yes, Simon has a way with how he sways the thinking of US AMERICANS. He predicted Adam to win and guess what AMERICA? I don’t think he’s been wrong yet. As far as Adam being better than Carrie Underwood, two different talents. Terrible show of racism in the eliminations. Americans could not stand anyone of african or indian origin moving on. Only tone deaf people could have justified that “what’s his name” to be voted back into the show last week. Utterly disgraceful. I believe now that It is all fake. I was waiitng for how long it would take some ignorant, small minded, lack of education person to write that it was racisim. Just face it Lil sucks, did nothing but scream and had the worst sassiest attitude I have ever seen. Always trying to make her point be the only thing. Once again I am glad her and Anoop are gone. They sucked from the beginning and will always suck.
Someone will give Lil & Anoop a singing contract not because they are talented but, because someone will start the all famous racism that always happens.
As far as Anoop he sucked from the beginning but, he doesnt need to worry America will give him everything he needs. The government always helps other countries people instead of Americans.

In reading all your comments, I find it interesting how many different opinions there are. That’s why they call it American Idol. In America we do have the right to disagree. Also, if you do not like a performer, I don’t see any reason to be disrespectful.

japanka: Can u pls stop calling adam lambert a GOD? U are just so annoying. We know how brilliant adam is (well as many say) but it is ridiculous to call him “GOD”. Its normal to express your admiration to someone but pls, have a “christian etiquette” in a public forum like this. We, filipinos are God-fearing people, didn’t we?
Anyway my idol is danny gokey. I really love his rendition of what hurts the most, i just remember my x girlfriend. When he sang endless love, i really feel his emotion. He’s great and i hope to see him in the hot chart in the near future. I just can’t believe allison is in the bottom 3, well we must admit, it must be matt giraud.

Lil and Anoop were far and away the best of 2009. With them both out I no longer have any reason to watch. Adam will likely win and that will probably spell the end for the American Idol franchise. He is flaming and far too controversial to be an “idol.” Mainstream Amerrica simply will not accept him. Too bad a few fans who pack the ballot for the weirdos have ruined a good program.

I felt bad for Anoop last night, because he did not get the recognition that Lil did. Then when he did try to say something, Lil interrupted him and talked over the top of him. They should have paid tribute to each of them individually.
I think that the winner of AI should be someone who has worked hard since the auditions and progressed the most throughout the competition….

Allison has raw talent! Her voice is unique and soulful. She is awesome in my opinion. I was disappointed that she was in the bottom 3. I want the 3 finalists to come down to Adam, Allison, and Chris. I didnt like Matt’s performance at all. The winner should be Adam. What a fun show!!!!!

But Clay WAS the favorite AI2 Idol. Two producers (on video!!!) admitted Clay received eighty (80) percent of the vote every single week; and I doubt there are many people out there that doubt that. If the finalists had 2-3 phonelines and 4 hours of voting time alloted to them like they did from AI3 to the present (only because the producers didn’t want the fiasco to happen again)-ALL of Clay’s votes would have been counted and they would have amounted to MILLIONS more than Ruben. Just by the reaction each week from the audience to Clay compared to anyone else on that show proves that Clay is/was the MOST popular of any contestant on that show. Ruben and the others shared only 20 percent of the vote each week. Ever try to get tickets to Billy Joel or the Rollingstones via phone line??? Can’t get in, huh??? Same thing happened that last night. IF Ruben was really the favorite-how come his popularity is no where near that of Clay’s. How come his career is about a 10th or less of what Clay’s has been. How come Clay has appeared in the media 1,000s of times more than Ruben has. I am still puzzled as why some still buy into that since Ruben was handed the ‘crown’ that night he really won—he did NOT.

TO Jean and Nikazman,You both have valid points,let me explain.I dont think we can prove racism,in a court of law,no attorney would take this case.How ever that is not to say that it does not exsist in this contest.But I would take a different approach, in that there are more white people then any other group.But one could argue that if there was more latin people,as well as black people,then the contest would surely have a different out come.So we can argue back and forth the many different reasons as to why certain people are no longer in the contest.Upon further review of the demographics,of different voters,in different states,shows that the contest at the end of the day,would only lean to the advantage of the largest group,which happens to be the white group. Dont get mad,this is a simlpe fact.And on the other hand,one could also argue that there is racism among the minority groups also,let me explain.Exzample there could be a large percentage of the Asian vote (Fillipinos,Chinese, etc…) who will not vote for a latina or a latino.There are also African Americans who would do the same, as well as latinos who would do the same aslso.It is understood that the majority of all different ethnic groups,including white people, would most likely vote for their own. Historicly it has always been this way.So until this is understood by the general public,as well as ethnic groups,we can expect to see more white contestant winners. It does not matter how good a minority contestant is ….Allison, she will have a hard time getting the votes she needs. That is why Simon calls her the under dog in this contest.Again I am not saying that racism does not exsist, just to hard to prove, and coupled with the fact that the white vote is much larger.I strongly belive that Allison, is truly the best person in this contest, in terms of her being only 16 years old,and a rookie,and a voice that is so strong and different,that just on its own,shouls give her the advantage,and in my best guess,she should really win this contest.

Earna Hi,If you remember Matt has been inconsisent time and again.Allison has been much stronger, but I would agree her music for Disco night was not all that great, same with Matt. How ever Allison is still there and with a little luck hopefully she can make it to the top three.If she does not make it all the way,I will vote for Matt,I like his R&B,soul side,but I think thats all he really has,unlike Allison who has a large arsenol of talent.

Please, for the love of God…if you have any mercy, let Allsion go this week, follwed by Matt next week. Isn’t it bad enough that, due to the judge’s interference, Matt has Anoop’s spot? C’mon! Let’s hope the judges stop with their relentless pimping of Allsion this week. Maybe then she will earn her rightful place in the bottom–where she has come close there times (more than any other AI 8 contestant in the top 5). She is so over-rated by the judges and I am sick of her twangy, cheesy, unrefined voice. I expect the Matt pimping to subside this week so the judges can keep their fav Allsion in longer. So, can’t we just give the crown to Adam and resume our regular programming???
