American Idol 2009 Top 7 Part 2 - Double Elimination Results Show Tonight
April 22nd, 2009 American Idol, Results, Season 8,Tonight on American Idol 2009 we will have the most exciting results show so far this season thanks to the double elimination after last week’s reprieve for Matt Giraud.
I want to hear who you think will be going home after last night’s Disco themed performances. I have my prediction and voted in the American Idol Top 7 Round 2 results poll already. Did you?
Whoa. DialIdol is showing that Lil Rounds had the highest level of busy signals last night. That’s right, even beating out Glambert in the rankings. At the bottom is Allison along with Kris. DialIdol hasn’t been too accurate recently, so I’m not giving them too much weight this season.
Tune in tonight to hear David Archuleta perform his single, “A Little Too Not Over You,” along with Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, Thelma Houston, and Freda Payne. Then be sure to come back here for the live results to be posted as soon as Ryan Seacrest announces them.
Let’s start hearing some wild predictions for which two performers will be heading home with no chance for redemption.

Iam afraid poor old Lil has just rounded up her AI career. Lovely girl, but confused. I am also sad to say Anoop didn’t quite hit it as he should have - lovely guy, but a wee bit out of his depth.

The top 4 are pretty clear…Adam, Allison, Kris and Danny…although Danny may have already peaked.
Lil must go with either Anoop or Matt. I wasn’t too fond of Matt’s performance and want him to go out of frustration over using the save to keep him on the show. I fear one of my top 4 gets rolled tonight and won’t have the save available.

I think Lil and Matt will be the two eliminated tonight. Lil shows no respect when the Judges are talking, she is too busy rambling on and on defending herself. She does look great, but it does seem that she only worries about her looks, instead of her singing. Adam is so talented, but he at least acts humble about it and acknowledges those who help him. Matt is better than Anoop, the ladies definitely like Anoop better by far. I think it would be great for Kris Allen to win the whole thing. He is original and talented and a breath of fresh air. Adam already has it made in the industry, so let someone else have a chance, Allison will for sure make it in the music world. Danny will probably be another Chris Daughtry.

In my humble opinion, here is my order in terms of tonight performances:
1 - Kris
2 - Danny
3 - Adam
4 - Matt
5 - Allison
6 - Anoop
7 - Lil
But the top three at the end will be Adam, Danny and Allison

Allison has been in the bottom 3 twice already same as Anoop, Lil, and Matt. So why are people so dead on that’s it’s not her? Sometimes she dosen’t get all the fav votes either. My prediction is DEFINITRLY LIL, ANOOP OR ALLISON if America is true to their favorites. Yeah !!!!!!! The guys are much better than the gals.

what would happen if omg.. ADAM (yeah you read right) was bumped from the show …. of course, he’s soooooooooooooo terrific that that would never happen. but let’s get realistic here. His voice is nothing special….he has no personality. at least when he first appeared on the show, he showed his “personality”….but now all of a sudden he’s got his hair combed back (and higher than a kite), and he’s just so sweet and superficial. he smiles soooooooooo sweetly, while thanking the person who arranged the song he sang last nite..get real, this guy shouldnt even be competing..he performed in a few stage shows…come on i thought this was for non professionals. i’m sorry, but the boy has to go. i know i’m probably the only one that feels this way but hey, it’s still a free country and my opinion, tho not popular should be heard. I think that lil could have excelled, but she let her arrogance and rudeness and dopey song choice get in the way…anoop has a nice voice, and i hope that he doesnt get the boot tonite. of course they’ll have to call the paramedics for paula if adam DOES gets the boot!

I’m from the Philippines and not an american but i am watching American Idol every week here. I am a fan of the great Adam lambert and for me, there is no one in this group who deserve to win but only adam lambert.
he is the greatest and he sings like an angel with a crooning voice that melts my heart.
i love you adam lambert. go go go!!!

I also would want matt giraud to stay. it would be best if he and adam lambert meet at the finals…… matt giraud is also a great singer and handsome as well.

If we all tryed and close our eyes and listen to the show you should be able to work out
who has talent and who should win and who has the voice of an angel.

Yeah Ruby I tried to come up with a reason for all this Mr. Adam love, but I’m not buying it either. That’s my point, earlier I said if he soooo great, at 29, he should have some kind of career by now, don’t you think? Yeah I would definitely like to see Matt in the finals too. Always been MY FAVORITE !

I will say it again, yes this is a free country and you are all welcome for your voices to be heard, but it is obvious that you “Adam-Haters” out there are tone-deaf and do not have an ear for music. Having been classically trained in Opera and musical theatre, I know an incredible voice when I hear one, and Adam is the real deal. I don’t even watch with my eyes open as the visuals of ALL of the performers are so distracting. Adam has one of the purest voices I have ever heard and he is BRILLIANT. Before you all go out there and trash him for not having a good voice and no personality, I’d like to see YOU step on stage in front of 30 million people on LIVE NATIONAL TV and see how well you do. Even if you could sing, which I doubt by your disrespectful and very INACCURATE comments on Adam and others, I bet you wouldn’t last more than 5 seconds up there. It takes guts and glory, none of which any of you haters out there seem to have.
With that being said, my predictions are similar to some of you above. The Top 3 will be some combination of the following:
Adam, Danny, Kris and Alison.
As for who is going home tonight:
Anoop, Lil and/or Matt.
I’m sorry. Lil is spectacular, but she has lost herself in this competition and without confidence and originality, she’ll fail in the limelight. Anoop is fabulous, but not in the same league as any of the others. He still needs some time to mature and find his voice. And well Matt, as much as I love him, he has just not shown enough originality as Kris has. I believe them to be at the same level as each other, but Kris just seems to know who he is as an artist and speaking from experience… if you aren’t secure in who you are and ready to stand up for what you are, you’ll never succeed.
I wish them all the best in life and have a feeling that we will all see something from the Top 7 individually sometime in the future. This has been the most outrageously spectacular group in all 8 years and I expect wondrous things from all of them!!!

One last comment based on the few who posted as I was writing…
Have you ever tried to “make it” in the music industry? I doubt it. It takes dedication, perseverance, a strong backbone, thick skin, and most importantly… the right opportunity. Just because Adam is 29 and doesn’t have a “career” by your snobby standards does not mean that he is not talented and a verifiable artist. There is a lot of struggle out there in this business… most people NEVER make it. So what if an opportunity comes at you when you are 16, 29, 49 or 89! It’s still an opportunity and you have been blessed because it finally came!!! Bravo to Adam for sticking with it and knowing that in order to pay the bills and still do what he loves he needed to do some Broadway shows. He is a consummate professional and despite your own personal feelings for him, he deserves credit for persevering through this callous and extremely difficult industry. Not just anyone can make it… not just anyone does. So stop with your lambasting of him. He doesn’t deserve it. He is leagues above anyone else in that competition and whether he wins or not, he truly deserves to have a “career” no matter what age it happens for him!

JustMe - yes. If you weren’t so disrespectful perhaps you would have a little accuracy to your comments. Perhaps if you learned a little something about music, tonality and pitch, you would know that he isn’t screeching. It is a controlled vibrato. And it is beautiful, in my opinion. You certainly may have your own, but at least be respectful… they are still human beings and you act as if they are cardboard cut-outs with no feelings. Soften up a little, my dear. Life is a bit easier when you do.

Please let Allison (over-rated, judge-pimped) go, along with Matt. I am soooooooooo sick of the judges and producers deciding American Idol’s destiny. “Double-think” by the judges will not make me THINK Allison is “brilliant, or “awesome” or “gifted” or “talented”. She is better than average, at best. That’s it!! Soooooorrrrry. She needs to go tonight, along with Matt.

As for tonight, I expect to see Lil and Matt go home. I didn’t like seeing Lil argue with the judges, but she does have a point…on one hand they ask the singers to “do something different, show their range” and when they do, the judges come back with “that’s not your niche, we want to hear you sound like XXXX or XXXX.” It’s hard to get clear cut advice from the judges.

I am just expressing my own opinion about Adam Lambert as i am now a fan of his, i dont criticize you people if you dont like him. anyway comments here can be posted for free.
i amj an asian and living in the philippines. i am not an american but i love music. i lve classical music esp. those by pavarotti, placido domingo , lara fabian and also some modern day groups like Blue, Westlife, Boyzone.
But i really admired Adam Lambert, he has powerful vocals and when he sang ” If I cant Can’t Have you”, i was also teary eyed. My God, this guy is a very sensitive person, he seem to express his hurt or something thru this song.
I simply idolized Adam Lambert, so people from USA, just leave me alone if i like adam lambert and watching his You Tube videos made me happy here. We live a kinda idyllic life here and American Idol show gave me some avenue to watch people sing from the other side of the globe.
Simon Cowell is GOD!!! if you dont like him, so be it…..this is just an opinion of mine.

OK…seriously..this is crazy. Adam Lambert is a star. He doesn’t even need to win AI to make it at this point. If you all REALLY love music, musicals, all the things that go along with it…have you seen “Dreamgirls” the movie that won Jennifer Hudson an *Academy Award? In that movie C.C. her brother talks about how the disco music in his song takes all the feeling out of it….all the meaning..(he quits right after that). What Adam Lambert did was genious! I had never looked at those lyrics that way untill he came out singing them that way!!! For once on American Idol I felt something I wasn’t expecting! If you really listen…I think you will know what I mean. He is the one to beat!!! He is the next American Idol!

I watch from Australia and yeah,I predicted Lil and Anoop would be saying goodbye this week.
I look forward to your Idol each week,particularily to see what Allison,Adam and Danny are going to bring to the table.These three,IMO,are awesome and will gain fame from this experience regardless of which person wins.Chris and Matt go well too so it is hard to predict who will be the 2009 winner.

Yea Lil does argue with the judges but if you people were in the same position you would to…. the reason she was confused was because they made her that way.
My top 3 favorites (Adam, Lil, and Anoop) has dwindled down to 1. We already know Adam will win, and next week Allison, Matt, and Danny will be in the bottom three with Allison going home.
This year is all about the “firsts” for American Idol and with Allison gone they will have alot of those… No women left just to name something

We Know Adam is a favorite,but the game is not over yet.Allison should win,she is the strongest amateur.I think if Adam wins and everybody has the right to vote for who they want it will hurt AI, big time,you will loose a big base of fans.And Allison is the numbe one threat to Adam,that is why,the majority of white America want her gone.She does well regional,how ever nationaly,not to good.C,mon can you see people in the middle America voting for a latina over a clean cut white performer?Remember until there are more African Americans,and more latinos to even up all sides,at least for latinos they will have a more harder time trying to convince americans,that they have great talent, with Allison being a great exzample.When you look at numbers as much as I do,and study demographics,it is hard to deny what Im saying.Just the way it is!….Any how with that being said,I think Allison can pull off an up set…GO ALLISON, Come on lets vote for the best amatuer!!!!!!!! Lil may have done what Simon asked but she forgot one thing…she didn’t sing the choices very well. Style, artist and song are huge but staying on top of the notes and knocking the song out of the park are more important. She just wasn’t as good as the others the last 3 or more weeks. Her early “favorite” status carried her longer than it should have. She has talent but not a clue what kind of artist she needs to become. I hope she finally figures it out because she’ll then be able to provide a new life for her 3 kids and husband. i wish her well but it was time to say goodbye.
