American Idol 2009 Top 5 - Songs & Guest Star
April 27th, 2009 American Idol, Season 8,This week on American Idol 2009 things will have moved on to the Top 5, having completely skipped the Top 6 thanks to the wacky Judges’ Save. Everything is back to normal this week as we’ll have the performance show on Tuesday and the single elimination episode on Wednesday night.
Tuesday’s performances will center around the Rat Pack theme. Singers will have to pick songs made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. Oh the anticipation to see which classic Lambert will scream next…
Wednesday’s results show will feature the return of former Idol winner, Taylor Hicks. He’ll be performing his single, “Seven Mile Breakdown.”

I think Allsion should GO HOME!–if there is any justice in this world. If the judges continue to lobby for her (especially since she is now the lone female)the public might be swayed again–but she has been in the bottom 3X, more than any other top 5 contestant…..so, it is time (actually it is PAST DUE!). I expect the “Allison pimping” by the judges to contiue in full-force though, so it may be Matt this week and Allison next. Matt is funny though–he is generally a mediocre singer/performer, but once in a while he surprises us and does very well. He has awesome piano skills which might help him with the Jazzy theme. I expect Allsion to mumble-scream through another boring song and for the judges to tell us how wonderful it was ’cause “I can’t believe you are only 16!!!”
I am not ruling out a Danny upset on Wednesday. I think this is real possibility. Who *should* leave? This is the order: Allsion, Matt, Danny, Kris , Adam. I have been confident all along that it would be a Danny/Adam final (with Adam winning, of course), but as of late, Danny is losing ground while Kris is gaining. Besides, there is something about Gokey that rubs me wrong, while Kris and Adam seems so genuine and nice. Can’t quite ut my finger on it–a subtle arrogance, perhaps? Having written that, Danny does have a strong voice. But it seems to end there.

I think Matt is the best on the show. Ashley, I agree with you that it is Allison’s time to go. I think Matt will gain some of Lils fans since he is the next closest to Rock and Blues. I think that Kris will struggle this week, honestly I think that Kris will go home Wednesday night, with Allison the following week. I think that the top three will be Adam, Matt, and Danny. I think that Adam will win, and Matt will be the runner up. I thought that last year with David Archleta, and I was wrong, maybe I will be wrong this year, too, and Matt will win. I hope we have a surprise this week, though and Danny will be going home, no one knows at this point. I think that the save helped Matt out, as far as votes and confidence goes. GO MATTY!!!!!! VOTE FOR MATT!!!!!!

Oh please! Allison and Adam–what a boring show that would be watching Janis Joplin wanabee compete with 10 times the talent. She is hopefully cut loose this week. Bottom 3 more than any other top 5–even more than Matt–who was kicked off before the save. Adam and anyone else would be better, not Allison. Adam is going to deservedly win anyway so why make us listen to a final where Allison in her Hop Topic attire mumbles through a bunch of forgettable songs?

Matt should do GREAT this week. Like Leeann said best on the show. Kris’s jaw side singing just BUGS me and he’s too boring. Danny’s just coasting. If you saw the group performance on Wednesday, Matt’s dancing was so natural with the beat he was awesome. Anoop was watching everyone else trying to keep up. Kris was sooo off beat, he looked ridiculous. Lil and Allison were just ok. Gokey was dokey. Adam’s legs are so long I couldn’t see the rest of his body??? You know what they say if someone dances good(Matt) lol Allison should def go home with being her 3rd time in bottom 3 or maybe Danny. Matt and Adam (almost a given by his fans) finale 2. Go Matt, Vote Matt !!!! FTW !

WOW! I cannot believe how many people now really dislike Danny–and it has nothing to do with his voice. Granted, he is not my fav either, but it surprises me how many dislike his personality. I do sense an air of superiority that he gives which is very off-putting.I really think there is a chance we may have a Danny upset Wednesday. I am still crossing my fingers for Allsion to go though. I hate to seem paranoid, but I think the producers do not want Matt to go yet or it will make their new stupid judge save rule look like a failure. which it is.
I am sorry to all of the Matt fans, but he is just not that good, not at this stage. But I hope Allison leaves before him.

Referring to Ashley’s thoughts as to what it is that isnt quite right about Danny, perhaps its the way he doesnt acknowledge the crowd’s cheers, the way Adam does? Ive always rooted for Danny from Day One and he has a quiet demeanour about him. But truth be told, Adam has been really good with stage presence. So its really what America wants… Danny would have been wow if only he could choose his own songs. As it is, most of the songs he has been singing are sort of chosen for him.So i say, Let the better man (or woman) win!

Ashley it’s not just Danny’s attitude he sounds the same week after week. Nothing different, just ordinary. I thought Matt was good from the start. Atleast you know he can change it up a bit, should def go with the piano this week. As far as the others, no one changes it except Kris, sometimes, but dosen’t leave a lasting impression on me. Some weeks I even forget what he sings and yet people vote for him. And for some reason Simon’s always hating on someome each season and this season it seems to be Matt.

I also love Danny from the start of the show. I don’t think he has that arrogance in him. He’s rather humble about his performances though and seems so genuinely kind.But Adam is also due for all the credit for his solid performances each week. It’s either Danny or Adam for me..

slb- very obvious. Though he has a good voice, Danny comes across as an over-confident, rude and proud guy. When he sings he actually looks pathetic. It is as though you’re watching a young child who has just been scolded. It’s time he goes. Adam-CLEAR WINNER followed by Kris

Slb, I feel that same way about Matt, while everyone is so against him. I mean come on people this guys got talent. Brandi, I totally agree with you that Danny sounds the same week after week. It gets old for me. Ashley, come on Matt has the best talent of the five left, hes by far the best. Sergio, how do you know that Matt will go this week? I can tell you that I hope Allison goes. I think the bottom three Wed. night will be Allison, Danny, and Kris, with Allison leaving.
Matt- The best and has the most talent
Adam- Also good, but not quite as good as Matt
Danny- Pretty good, just needs to change his types of songs up a little.
Allison- Can’t stand her, she needs to go.
Kris- Good, but just good.

Nobody is “against” Matt, and obviously the judges are for him since they saved him (still a little hard to believe). People may be against the more talented Anoop since he was robbed of his Top 5 spot by the Matt’s save. I think people are realizing that this close to the finish a contestant needs genuine and superior talent to compete. Matt lacks the ability to stay afloat as the weeks roll on. Allison or Matt need to go next if there is any fairness in the world! Matt has come quite far if you think of it: America did not vote him in–he was a judge’s wild card; got voted off after apeparing in the bottom 3 previous only to be saved by the judges. Stylistically he is “blah”. He is very lucky that he got this far. Now, if I had my way–Allison would be gone Wednesday (but the jduges won’t haveit!!) and Matt next week. Can’t see him lasting more than one or two more weeks. At some point, real talent has to be the key to staying power.

Leean according to my latest research,it appears that, Kris and Danny are moving ahead,as Adam is loosing some ground, well Allison is still the under dog.How ever I think it could be over for Matt,he as well as allison are going to have to bring the heat tonight.Again even if Matt and Allison are the best,middle states are going to vote for the clean cut all american type, (Kris,and Danny).I think it would better serve you to vote for Alison as she is the under dog.But do what you have to!

Ashlee, you are right the judges will not have Allison go,especially Simon,the erason being Simon understands talent.It appears you dont, and that is O.K.I think Allison is the wild card here,you know that.It is in your best intrest to vote for Allison, because you will not like who we could possibly get stuck with. It is not real talent that we are talking about,but demographics.

slb A lot of people like Danny,if you are a big Gospel fan. I can see Danny making millions doing Christian Music,filling up the mega super suburban christian churches all accross the bible belt. Thats about it, so that being said vote for Allison,we will hear her a lot more on the radio.

How about voting for the MOST TALENTED person instead of voting for the so-called and presumed “underdog” or figuring demographics into the voting equation. Vote for the most talented singer/entertainer, which would mean bye-bye Allison or Matt!!

ASHley I know it is hard to belive that Adam is loosing ground,but it is true.Chris and Danny have more people down loading there music more than the other contestans.And I do agree the person with the most talent is Allison.And i also agree that Adam will probably win.I know the truth hurts,but again if there was more black people as well as more latinos as well as asians,ect… you can better belive that the out come of this race would be different.You can not deny the facts.There are more white people than any other group,and they historically vote white.Im not black ,nor am I latino,nor asian, I just know how people vote,that is my job

I also like Allison among the girls. She deserve to be the last woman standing. But the boys overpowers her. This is indeed the most talented group among all idols season when its come to artistry. This top 5 deserve to be given a spot in the music industry. Such a talent.

TS it seems to me that any one who does not agree with you is a bigot,are some type of radical.I think you are the one with some major iossues.Something must have happend to you growing up.I am not sayinh all whites would not vote for any one else,that is obvious.Of course they will support othr races,exzample we have an African American President,and other ethnic people in high postions in the U.S.What I am saying that by numbers there are more caucasians in the U.S, than any other group.So if we follow your logic,you would be right on one hand,how ever,if there was more African Americans as well as Latinos,you could safely argue that the out come of this contest would be in Allisons favor.How many African Americans would pay to go see Adam? my guess would be very little,same as Latinos.And it could go the other way also.So that being said dont get mad its just a contest.But I think after after all said,Allison will be heard more on the radio,and seen more on MTV,then any other contestant.Just saying,by the way my logic is correct,thats what I do for a living,I study demographics.Dont Hate.

I think all of them are very talented definitely the best top 5 from all the seasons but Adam Lambert and Matt are outstanding. I really hope that Matt does not go. I want to see an Adam & Matt final. I am from South Africa and only watching the top 7 so I am cheating and seeing who is leaving in advance.
