This week on American Idol you’ll need to pay careful attention to the schedule shift as the remaining Top 10 singers will compete with the arsenal of Motown song selections. The 2-hour performance show on Wednesday (8pm ET/PT), not Tuesday due to another nationally televised speech from the White House. The American Idol 2009 results show will air on Thursday night (8pm ET/PT) not Wednesday and not at 9pm.

On Thursday night’s results show former Idol Ruben Studdard will return to perform his new single, “Together.” Studdard will have to make room for Smokey Robinson who will also hit the stage that night to perform one of his classics.

So be sure to reset your Tivo to catch the right show times since everything is getting shifted around this week. You can read all the background details on the schedule shuffle here.

Update: While we wait for Wednesday’s performance show, be sure to vote in the Top 10 performance prediction poll to show who you think will have the best week with Motown songs.
