American Idol 2009 Top 3 of First Top 12 Revealed Tonight
February 18th, 2009 American Idol, Season 8,After last night’s Idol performances of the first batch of 12 singers from the Top 36 of American Idol 2009 there was little praise. Tonight the results of your voting will be revealed when Ryan Seacrest announces the Top 3 performers which will include the top vote earning male, top vote earning female, and the second highest vote earner in either the male or female category.
Who do you think will come out on top? I’m guessing Danny Gokey will take the top male spot. More importantly though, are we done with Tatiana Del Toro? Let’s hear some American Idol predictions!

I’ll start it off. Danny Gokey will be the top ranked male singer. That’s my prediction.

I believe Danny Gorkey will be the top ranked male. I think Tatiana should be in the top three. She has an excellent voice. She is an extremely passionate young lady who for the most part is quite dramatic but fun and likable at the same time. Her subdued behavior last night may have stemmed from some coaching. Her laugh can be annoying and it may turn some supporters off. It could have been nerves or perhaps she was sedated as suggested by some fellow nurses today at work. Anook or Ann Marie from Tennessee will probably be in the top three. Both are very talented. I really enjoyed last night’s performances but was a bit surprised how poorly some of the young people performed. Some sounded like a fair night at kareoke. Some chose really bad songs that they’ll regret for a long long time. Can they try out again next year? I’m still a newbie at this. Looking forward to tonight’s results!!!

I know Danny Gokey is through for sure cause america has seen him every week it seems like so he will be in regardless. Alexis should definitly go cause she was the only girl who did better then average and i know the last one should go to Ricky cause he sang better last night then anyone on the show including gokey. But for some weird reason i think anoop will get that last vote cause again hes been on tv alot america knows him.

If the busy signals were any indication then Danny Gokey will get the top male spot. The top female spot should go to Alexis with her flawless performance. Based on performance, the final spot should go to Ricky Braddy who definitely out sang all the performers last night. I had hoped for a better job from Anoop, but if he does’t make it I’ll bet the judges bring him back!

You’re kidding right? Rickey? Come on. Everyone likes the guy myself included. He sang a very popular song and I enjoyed it. But he doesn’t have the voice to make it through this competition. This isn’t a popularity contest, it’s who can sing the best right? I’m disgusted that Anoop got the shaft. He clearly had one of the top 3 voices in that group. Open your ears America!

I agree with Alexis Grace, and Danny Gokey, of course, I love him. But how come Michael Sarver over Anoop? Anoop is a far better singer. I don’t get it, seriously, I’m shocked.

I missed it too but nice to hear that Tatiana Del Toro didn’t make it. Did she make a big scene and cry and scream like a banchee?? I don’t think they can try out again if they make the final 36 so maybe that’s what the judges were thinking. Atleast we won’t have to see her again, I hope.

I wish it was the top 5 getting though. I believe that Ricky and Anoop deserve to be in there. They both did better than Michael. Sorry Michael. I think you are a great guy but they did sing better.

5 really strong performances!
Alexis, Danny, Braddy, Anoop, *shocker* Tatiana!
1.I completely saw Danny going through. Not the strongest voice- but great singer. He brings relevance, passion, heart and a story when he sings!
2.Alexis Grace- girls got soul! Outstanding performance from such a small package. not convinced on the Kelly Clarkson comparison but definitely memorable.
3. Micheal? Seriously?! I like the guys story. I’m sure he sings great to his wife on their anniversary. He’s not going to make it through his next round. Anoop or Braddy made a real push for that #3 spot! Braddy really should’ve gottin it. Guess i should’ve voted though. lol. Tatiana(?) American Idol really screwed with her chances in the beginning weeks with repeatedly playing shots of her being annoying and drama filled. If she would’ve had composure during Hollywood week and sang the way she did the other night. She really had a strong shot at that 3rd shot. Image is everything. Shame!

Hmm, I really like Michael. Talent is a big part of the competition, but the thing is it isn’t everything. At this point they can all sing, so Likability plays a bigger role. I think that’s how he got in. Plus lets be real, people aren’t just voting on that one performance, they’re voting on what they have seen over all. Before you say that’s not right I would argue that if it weren’t the case Tatiana would have made it through.

I like Michael in this competition. Never said otherwise. All the times he’s sung he’s sounded good. Not as good as Ricky Braddy though! He did sound great. Simon was right about the confidence and swagger he could’ve shown. only 3 spots, tough decisions. I wish all 3 the best of luck next round!

TV Guide got me too! Danny all the way! The boys got talent and so much strength to try this after what he has been through, and Michael, well he’s got such a presence as well as a great voice. It should have been any three, not two guys and a girl because I believe Anoop did better than Alexis. Oh well, can’t wait till next show!

Thanks for the info, everyone! As for Tatiana - well, we can’t count her out 100% yet - there’s still the wild card show, you know (where the last 3 of the top 12 will come from). Who knows what the judges will pull there. I thought, since there’s 4 judges, they might each pick someone that didn’t make it from each of the previous 3 shows (making 12) to compete in the wild card show - but who knows. Clay Aiken was a wild card pick from season 2, and see how well he did!

I screamed with joy when Danny beat out Tatiana. She was sooo annoying. Danny is awesome. I also voted for Alexis, and was glad she made it through. My third vote went to Brian Keith. I think he is great and deserves to go to Nashville!

I picked Gokey from day one and will carry that spiritual confidence through to the end. My 10 year old daughter cheered with me last night! We would buy a cd tomorrow!

I was sure Alexis and Danny would make it..I thought 3rd was going to be Ricky or Tatiana…surprised by the outcome..but I have a question….if they are taking 3 each week out of 3 groups (36) = 9 contestants..where do the last 3 come from to =12????

I really believe that Danny will be our new American Idol. He reminds me of a friend of ours who is a Pastor. They could pass as twins! He is awesome and I agree with Sherry. I would buy his CD tomorrow!

I believe Titiana will be a wild-card….She truly has a wonderful voice, an infectious laugh, and let her emotions run wild…so what, the entertainment value brought me to complete histerical laughter…I wasn’t sure that I was laughing at her or with her, but for sure if she comes back as a wildcard-she can give Danny a run for his money and bring reality, laughter
and competition to its next level……
regardless, perhaps this might be the best american idol ……it ain’t over till the
not so fat lady sings her heart out……..
can’t you just hear her joyous laughter going thru the hall ways…..and in your subcontious minds……….

I am sooo glad to see Tatiana go home. I could not stand to watch her. Simon was 100% right “drama queen”. It was always all about her. Only her. Does she not realize it was every one of the contestants dream to win, not just hers. She made a fool out of herself last night. She was crying instead of clapping during Dannys song. Everyone else was clapping and they were being sent home too. Shame on her.

I am watching here in Australia on Fox. Agree with Danny and Alexis, but it seems like the American public do listen to Simon and voted for Micheal. Nice guy, not the best singer in the group. Should have been The Anoop Dog!!

Nick Mitchell Is brilliant. What a perfect song choice, and a marvelous performance! I love this guy, and I can see a “Norman Gentle Revue” in Vegas, as a very real possibility. If he continues, I will not miss a show. Eveyone I have talked to has said they would pay to see this guy now.
