American Idol 2009 Hollywood Rounds 3 & 4 This Week - Top 36 Revealed
February 9th, 2009 American Idol, Season 8,This week on American Idol season 8 we will return to Hollywood for rounds 3 & 4 for more battling amongst the singers looking to secure a position in the Top 36 for Idol 2009. Last week we watched as many favorites, and not-so-favorites, were cut from the bunch. By the end of the week we will know if the Top 36 spoilers was accurate or not.

I just notice today that with every piece of clothing Casey Carlson wear she put on the Muslim ‘kafia’ which is the neck cover, I don’t think it’s appropriate for the show and maybe she don’t even know what it is or what it represents in the Arab/Muslim world. I don’t know if it’s for fashion or more of political statement which can have her drop in an early stage all I know it look totally wrong. I just came from Iraq and after years of learning the Arab/Muslim culture I understand that there 2 kind of ‘Kafia’ the red and the gray. the gray what she put on represents the harder stream of the Islam and most of the terrorist wear it. do we really want to have a piece of fashion clothing that match terrorist???? it’s enough for us the soldier to see it in those countries then to see it in our home on our own daughter’s!!!
we lost so many lifes because of poeple who waer that piece of clothing and there no reason to have it here for no reason.

Not Sure what happened tonight. They sent home a young man that could sing and put through norman with his theater. I really like to know what happened. 2 best friends both of them can sing and they only put through 1 of them. Even the other contestants was shocked!!!!!

I am disappointed that the young man, friend of man who lost his wife, was not put through. He had much more talent and poise than so many other of those who did make it through. It was shocking and unfair.

Jamar at least I thought was better than some of them they put thru. But he was nice about it. Maybe they will call him back as the wild card…

My friends and I are shocked that three drama “queens” made it through tonight: Mr. Multiple Personalities; More-Than-Irritating Self-Centered Laughing Girl; & Emotional-Whiny-Boy who is nuts to compare himself to David Bowie. These three CANNOT sing–and only distract from why we watch the show: SINGING TALENT. The black guy (friends of the guy who lost his wife) should be called back! As a WILD CARD. So sad to see. We all agreed–we just cannot watch the show until they are gone gone gone.

I watch the show for TALENT not for DRAMA & jewelry. “Judges” when they make a mistake, should CORRECT it! Jamar (friend of the guy who lost his wife) should have made it through. He should be called back for his voice because that is the purpose of the show. Not multiple personalities and drama queens. “Oh My God! Oh My God!” My Star! I will find something else to watch or do.

The three loonies they put through tonight are simply an insult to the show. None can sing! I take American Idol seriously and watch for talent. If I wanted to watch a comedy, I can turn the channel. Jamar should have made it through.

The Flamers and the most annoying freak chick ever get through and Jamar, who by the way took it like a true profesional when he was obviously unfairly judged off the show, was cut. They keep that combustable drama Queena and that stupidly flaming comedian/bad signer? Shameful. Lot’s of decent people lost spots to these freaks. Simon can’t complain if another Sanjaya happens when it gets to the audience voting. Who are the flamers names so we can bash them incessantly?

Jarmar was by far better than Norman (who we haven’t even heard sing properly yet)and a lot more. Simon you keep saying this is a singing show so why do we have the pantomime for the funny guy audition?

sounds like there might be someone in the 36 they chose that they want to really stand out and that could be why they let through some people that couldnt sing…hopefully they won’t last after next week…what a shame for “the guy who lost his wife” i thought he could sing really good…

Jarmar was my favorite…he could sing! When America gets to vote the Judges always say it shouldn’t be a popularity contest it’s a singing competition. Well they just did it themselves…sending home singers and going for theatrics.

Danny made it thru his buddy Jamar did not and neither did Jackie Midkiff. These two gentlemen showed professionalism, respect and maturity. They should be on the wild card. I have to disagree with some of the choices that were made. Such as, a young lady that we could not understand one word, forgot her lyrics twice during Hollywood week, Please!, you would have never put her thru before. Annoying girl, Tatianna. Norman/Nick, several others that I cannot remember names.

By the way, Nick/Norman can really sing! He may be theatrical and a little goofy, but he has a good voice. Now, Tatianna….WTF? She has an okay voice, but is sooooo annoying. I can tolerate him way more than her. And hopefully AI will bring back Jamar. I was truly shocked that he didn’t go through. But I’m glad that Danny made it.

I told my friends this morning that I don’t think I will be watching this season. The judges evidently have a different view of what the show is about. I was shocked to see that Norman (the clown)made it and Jamar didn’t. Tatianna seems to need some serious counseling. This show is headed for a train wreck! I hope they bring Jamar back…he could sing — unlike Norman!

What on earth were the judges thinking last night when they sent Jamar home. He had a better voice than many put through and also has the right ‘look’. I was totally stunned as were other contestants. He deserves a comeback. Simon, do your stuff and bring him back. Can’t imagine why you let this one slip through.

Jamar should not have been cut! I was shocked along with everyone in the audience. It is horrible to lose him and keep some of the crap that got through. I don’t think I can tolerate watching Tatiana, or whatever her name is and put up with redhead-pierceface-whine wagon as well.

I keep hearing the judges say this is a singing and talent opportunity. I am very disappointed with the people who had talent that got sent home and the wackos that were selected. I have watched AI every season and if Tatiana is not gone asap I will have to stop watching. (If you think she is helping the ratings she is not!)

I was calling my daughter to comment on the fact that they cut Jamar and let that clown in and I got a beep. She was calling me to say the same thing. You think splitting up those friends will bring viewers????? They are both great and I am actually not going to watch this year because I am so irritated. I have watched every season so far but last night was so ridiculous. Plus the sing off are just cruel beyond words. I can’t stand Tatiana. She can sing but what an immature brat. She could never be an idol.

EXCUSE ME BUT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SINGING CONTEST? Why is it that Kara keeps telling some they have the total package except the vocals? I haven’t heard her or anyone say that to a male species in this contest. Please lets keep to the talent and not the body or looks.

I agree with Cheri. I watch the show for talent. Kara & Paula both stated to TiTiana (I do not even care if I even spell her name right)–aka the nutcase that cannot sing–that they missed her theatrics. Lost my respect for both of them with those comments. I used to think Simon was too harsh. SIMON IS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE SHOW THAT IS SANE! But, apparently he has no control over the content–anymore. So I am not watching-until I hear the show once more is a serious singing talent contest. I can not sing–but so enjoy music and good voices. Just a waste of time this year!

I have watched this show since Kelly Clarkson, whom I voted for, won. And in all the years, I truly believe that Jamar being cut is the BIGGEST INJUSTICE that I have witnessed. If this is allowed to stand as it is, the show will lose many fans and the respect of the American public. Furthermore, this is a singing competition and Jamar can really sing. I can easily name several men on the show that can not sing nearly as well as Jamar, but I will not because I am too classy for the insults. Jamar should be brought back in the Wildcard show. He deserves it!

The judges really screwed up this time. Don’t understand why they didn’t choose Jamar. He was the best of all who auditioned. Not sure what they were thinking when they cut him. I suppose the judges didn’t want to put him through because he would have seemed like a professional and they prefer amatures.
