American Idol 2009 Auditions Continue January 20 & 21
January 15th, 2009 American Idol, Season 8,Season 8 of American Idol is back in full swing with the 2009 auditions leading off the new episodes. Having breezed through Phoenix, AZ and Kansas City, MO, Simon, Randy, Paula, and the brand new Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, the panel of judges are ready to for the remaining cities: East Rutherford, NJ, Jacksonville, FL, Louisville, KY, Salt Lake City, UT, San Francisco, CA and San Juan, PR.
After the auditions phase, the 2009 Idol season schedule will be:
- Top 36 Semi-Finalists Revealed Wednesday, February 11.
- Voting Begins Tuesday, February 17.
- Top 12 Singers Revealed After Judges’ Wild Card Round Thursday, March 5.
- Top 12 Finalists Perform for First Time Tuesday, March 10.
Can the other cities match Arizona’s Katrina Darrell, “Bikini Girl”, or Kansas City’s Casey Carlson? Here are a few pics from Carlson’s work with “Campus Girls USA” which sells calendars and donates the proceeds to breast cancer research.

Nope, they sure weren’t, but they were the few that had pics readily available. Plus, Carlson’s were for a good cause: breast cancer research fundraising.
You should mention up the other performers you enjoyed.

I love that girl from last year that sang a Janis Joplin song…she had unusual makeup…but she is goooood…I believe she will audition again…I love her voice…sorry don’t know her name

Pigeon toed much??? (Darrell) that is. Carlson and Darrell if you were so confident then you should have worn clothes. Is it not better to just make it then to be accused of making it because you are in a bikini? Sad, Sad world.

@Tammy: Carlson did wear clothes. Darrell was the “bikini girl,” but Carlson auditioned while fully clothed.

I believe that Darrell had a lot of confidence and “BALLS” to go on National Television in a swimsuit…considering it is a SINGING competition and not a modeling one… True, I also think that having done so, should have shown where her mind is as far as the competition goes…she has more than likely already lost most of the “insecure” female voters, should she go far enough to need them…but the remainder of us will still not vote for her, merely cause she didn’t sing very well!! On the bright side… someone important enough may have seen her to spot her and make her a bikini model for some other kind of calendar such as Carlsons!!! LOL!!!

Male Judges reactions show with Bikini “girl” that sex is more important than rules of decent behavior for singing auditions…at least as producers show us on tv. Aren’t teens getting enough dumb messages from the adult world. Didn’t know that you should show up barely dressed for serious consideration at AI

I am trying to secure name or contact information on the visually impaired contestant from Phoenix, AZ. He is a student at ASU and was awesome.
My husband is President of the Leader Dogs Classic Golf Tournament to be held in Scottsdale @ Ancala Country Club on May 4, 2009. We are having a “by invitation only” cocktail party on May 3 to educate public on the visually impaired. The President/CEO of Leader Dogs For The Blind (headquartered in Rochester, MI) will be our featured guest.
We would like to extend invitation to this young man. If anyone can assist in providing information, it would be greatly appreciated.

i think both of these girls should be elliminated now!!!!!!!!!! after all once people found out about david hernandez they couldnt get him off the show fast enough…and he was a very good singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with Paula???? I got so bad when she told that boy who said to be careful,that it sounded like a threat….Im from the south and I have always told people be careful….that is what he meant,its just something you say when you care about them.he was not being mean..And I do wish you guys would stop making fun of people..I hope thats not all it takes to get people to watch your show…I am a fan…just couldnt stand what you was saying to that guy..thanks

I think this is absolutely wrong the way they are excepting woman because they are in bikinis. What are they teaching the children!! This show is about good singers, not the best bodies. It is an insult to all other talented “singers” on the show.

Casey Carlson actually fit it better she looks way better because she actually has a body the Darrell looks way to skinny!!! but that is just my opinion

obviously if you come to an audition with out real clothes on then you must know you dont have the best voice in the building. i love american idol and some of my favorites this season for tryouts are Joanna Pacitti, Michael Castro, Ashley Anderson, Scott Macintrye (Visually impaired contestant)….. and i have more =]

I don’t understand how they could get rid of Jamar, he was amazing and there were people that were a lot worse than him that made it…I can’t stand Titanna, or however u spell her name..she is terrible…I say go Danny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I totally agree Jamar should still be there, what was the Judges thinking? Also that Nick Norman guy whatever his name is I thought was terrible.Titanna Awful!!!!
