Last week I asked to hear your thoughts on Idol columnist Erin’s discussion on this season’s potential to create a Superstar Idol. I promised the best comment would get highlighted back here for thousands of readers so here it is from reader James, this week’s winner:

James: You’re absolutely right about AI’s checkered history in producing recording stars. The screams and shrieks on the show don’t necessarily equal a marketable career after the show. Even David A. is a wildcard — he probably can’t produce an album for adults and may not want to be targeted for 8-15 year old girls, where he would do quite well as a teen idol.
